About the Game

WARCANA is a fantasy inspired real-time base defence strategy game with a unique deck-building mechanic. Take on the role of a mighty magician and face the challenge of surviving waves of unrelenting attacks whilst simultaneously summoning your own large armies. Lay waste to your rivals in either a battle-royale with up to 30 other players, or in a series of single player campaigns.

Build your deck. Prepare your defences. Summon your armies. Survive the onslaught. Will you be the last one standing?

All cards have their own tech trees, with abilities ranging from summoning buildings, units, or casting spells. More cards are unlocked from summoned economy buildings, so be sure to play your cards right and consider your tech tree route in order to have ferocious monsters, destructive spells and more at your command. Choose poorly however, and you'll be left vulnerable to being overrun with just the round timer to save your base.

Challenge yourself in a single player campaign featuring 30+ scenarios, or create your own using the in-game editor. The single player campaign makes it easy to learn the basics, understand how the devotions differ from one other and really hone the craft of a mighty mage.

Be the last one standing in a Battle Royale against up to 30 players, where at any given time each player faces off against two direct opponents. An additional Horde Mode has players race to get the highest kill score and in the Stream Sniper mode, players can experience epic social moments as part of an online community playing against streamers.

Summon hundreds of thousands of units to your army as a maelstrom of monsters simultaneously cause extensive destruction to your own defences. The different devotion and unit types add further considerations in breaking through to your opponent's bases.

Sow the seeds of mythical forces as a "Fay Caller", spread demonic dread as a champion of "Occultism", or unleash other cosmic horrors from the other selection of fantastical devotions. Each has their own unique devotion perk, gameplay mechanic and distinct theming. Selecting primary and secondary devotions for multicoloured decks adds further depth and variety to how the battles play out.

Abandoned. No AI skirmish mode, really, like you'd expect if you're an RTS fan. Clunky and limited scenario maker for what IS there to make single player games. Basically, you have to design the enemy and the setup before fighting them, which leaves zero room for surprises or even an ai to work properly unless it's set up properly. Had potential, good art, pvp was fun to watch - but, dead now. Rip

The game had potential, but the developers abandoned it after 3 "patches" and a hotfix in the span of 2 months. Zero communication, avoid in the future.

Abandonware, unfortunately. Game was very promising. Has a great idea. But I would avoid it at this point. Play 9 Kings. Similar idea, better execution.

This game has absolutely stunning visuals. Just watching massive armies in action is already entertaining. I bought it mainly because I love the art style — I really want to support the developers to keep going. If they release more DLCs, I’ll definitely buy them all. In my opinion, the price is already worth what I paid. Don’t forget to share development updates on social media from time to time. Right now, it feels like the game isn’t being actively developed, which could affect people who are considering buying it in the future. Before I bought it, I had the same hesitation — it looked like the game might have been abandoned. I’d love to see more people playing this game. It’s a great game, but it just hasn’t been promoted enough.

This is a fun and unique take on the deckbuilder / tower defense genre. I'm tentative to call it a tower defense since it plays so much differently from the more traditional tower defense games. Deck building aspects are strong here and how you arrange your deck is quite important for how the game plays. There are a good variety of strategies and a mixture of different deck types to select from. Playing the game revolves around managing your deck cards and placing economic, military (barracks) and towers to defend your city. The game appears simple at first but you will find there is more depth to it once you get into it. For the single player campaign, the missions are fun and challenging. I've played through about one third of them now. Note that all of them, that I have played, have pre-built decks, maybe the later ones allow you to customize. The game really shines when you start playing it in multiplayer. Unfortunately, no one is playing this game anymore, so you will need to h...
