About This Game

Drown in nostalgia and go on an adventure in search of your missing childhood friend.

Dokimon: Quest is a game where you capture monsters to battle alongside and push through the dangerous open world. In advances to uncover the the mystery about your missing friend, you must become stronger, allowing you to venture on into increasingly dangerous areas.

Battle against Rangers who are also on the quest to get stronger, and take down evil corporations that stand in your way and disrupt the peace.

Dokimon: Quest is a turn-based monster tamer game, with modern day QoL:

  • Speed up battles by holding an action key

  • Edit monster stats and move pools from your main menu (when in towns)

  • Battle helper tips and tools (optional)

  • Quest log, to help you keep track of your journey

  • 8bit + Piano OST, pick which one suits your preference

  • World battles lets you battle right in your surroundings (enable in options)

  • 20+ Retro Color palettes, in case full color isn't your style

  • 9 Playable characters to choose from

  • 4 Save files, in case your friends want to try

Features

Dokimon takes inspiration from the "GameBoy Color" era of games, without the chunkiness of some of those old systems. (Like, the game's systems.. not the consoles, we love those).

On your adventures, you'll be able to:

  • Collect over 140 unique, original monsters

  • Go on an adventure expanding across 15+ towns

  • Explore several routes, caves, shrines, seas, and mountains

  • Complete a 15-20 hour story mode, and endless fun for completionists

  • Track down rare monsters to unlock the game's post story

  • Experience 7 alt-palettes for each monster (1 of which is incredibly rare)

  • Go FISHING!

Built to last. Dokimon: Quest was developed in the MonMae engine (aka Luna)

Dokimon: Quest was made in MonTamer Maker (MonMae, also know as Luna), which is platform/engine that was made specifically for making monster tamer games.

This engine continues to grow in it's uses and features thanks to the devs and helpful community. Therefore, the making of new Dokimon: Quest (and similar) titles is within arms reach, even for you!

Professor Intro

"Watch out!" "You almost just got singed by a Burnsby!! Didn't you know? They may be cute and cuddly, but they hide amongst plush animals, and strike out at unsuspecting prey. Their cute demeanor can quickly send you on a trip to the hospital!"

Professor Rei: "Oh, hey! I didn't see you there. I was practicing my lines for.. Err, Nevermind.."

"My name is Rei! I've sort of made a name for myself as a Dokimon specialist. Ever since the Great Divide, I've made it my mission to thoroughly document Dokimon on Earth. Dokimon are extremely dangerous creatures, so studying them profusely helps to ensure everyone's safety. You probably already knew that, though.."

"But anyway, what are you still doing here? Go play the game already!"

There is a Dokimon Wiki that includes information about all monsters, tips, guides, and more. To those that are interested, please check the Dokimon: Quest Steam Community Hub, or try googling "Dokimon Wiki".

It’s okay That’s about it , it’s definitely a game that pays homage to Pokémon, a little to much in my opinion Theirs a lot that could be done to make the game a little smoother, and I wish the game would decide if it was a humor game or a serious game , it switch’s a bit too much between those The monster designs are pretty mediocre and not very interesting , I like the way it streamlines certain aspects but it also seems to go backwards in other areas I wouldn’t buy at full production, wait till it’s on sale Decent game but needs more work

A feeling of cheapness permeates the whole game, from the art to the sound design and music. The game feels slow, dull and low-impact, doesn't feel like it has many original ideas of its own and it really is just a reskin. I would recommend playing Disc Creatures instead.

This game has a lot of joy put into it. The creatures are some of the best in the ever-evolving genre, ranging from THE MOST ADORABLE TEDDY BEAR WHO WILL BURN YOU ALIVE to "Oh hey, that's literally the entity that will kill you if you so much as think its name. The story is centered around friendship, like only the greats can.

I am not someone who is good at writing reviews, but I would like to express how much fun and joy I got playing this game! I was enamored by the art and the variety of Dokimon you encounter throughout the game. The story was cool and funny as you set off on an adventure to find clues about your missing friend, battle elite rangers, and deal with the Xer faction causing trouble to Dokimons. For the content after the main game I had a blast going through it such as exploring a new area and battling more elite rangers. And it's a good area to collect the remaining creatures you are missing in the game. I have to admit the final boss of the alt-region was pretty rough if you don't have a team high enough level to beat it. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this game and completing all the achievements! Thank you for making a wonderful creature-collector game :D

I really enjoyed what I played so far. The story is both fun and quite dark for the genre, which I like a lot. As a player you feel how much work was put into the game. Great work, and I‘m forward for picking it up again and 100%ing the achievements.

I really enjoyed the game. The story was good. I loved the artwork and game play. I liked a few of the characters. One of my favorites and most memorable was tobi. a bit of a spoiler. after freeing tobi he's mad at you because he was fine being around bunny girls. funniest joke in the game. I like how you can battle Rangers repatedly. It is a nice experience. I would play this again I do have a few problems. There were 2 parts of the game were i was completely and it got a bit frustrating. The 2 parts were getting the fairy stone and were to find Aoi. It could just be a me problem. But the game did not explain it. but i did not have this problem at any other point. But yano was more then willing to hlep me get through those parts. Another thing the move pool on the magic feels a bit too limiting. my magic users had nothing by physical moves for a bit. Than i did not get to see my dokimon evolve. most of the time they would evolve it be in the small battles were the sprites are...
