About This Game

Since 1995, X-Plane has been at the forefront of flight simulation, continually pushing the boundaries of realism and immersion. X-Plane 12 carries this legacy forward, offering a state-of-the-art simulator that combines real-world physics, unprecedented systems depth, and a true-to-life simulation of the world. Whether you're an aspiring pilot, an aviation enthusiast, or simply seeking an unmatched flying experience, X-Plane 12 is the go-to platform for any aviation fan.

X-Plane 12 takes immersion to new heights with its dramatically improved volumetric clouds and real live weather system. The new volumetric clouds create stunning, dynamic skies that evolve with the weather. Paired with our revamped live weather feature, which updates conditions in real-time based on global meteorological data, every flight feels truly authentic.

X-Plane 12 introduces a new lighting model that transforms the visual experience. With photometric lighting, every surface is rendered with real light intensities, capturing the subtleties of natural light across different times of day and weather conditions. The addition of bloom effects further enhances realism, creating stunning visuals and making every moment feel more vibrant and authentic.

X-Plane 12 redefines environmental realism with its enhanced scenery features. The world comes to life with new 3D trees that sway in the wind, realistic 3D water that reacts naturally to weather, and updated autogen that brings cities and landscapes to vivid detail. Airports are more immersive than ever with fresh textures, moving boats, and over 20,000 3D airports sourced from the X-Plane Gateway, each with unique, community-driven enhancements. Whether flying low over dense forests or landing at a bustling airport, X-Plane 12's scenery creates an unparalleled sense of place and realism.

This is my honest opinion. The game is great very realistic better physics then any. The one thing that has gotten on my nerve for months is that you can't set a flight plan in game and have to purchase a subscription for online flight planners. For how much this game was I was certainly expecting more realism to the flight plan side. Overall this game is amazing I recommend if your more of just liking the thrill of it type of person. But this game should be updated to where you can add a flight plan in the simulation or in menu.

best Flight Sim. let's be real - i don't have 2000 dollars to buy all the DLC map + Flight Sim Yoke Controller with rudder - I can still enjoy the SIM part with keyboard and mouse - you pick a plane - the airport - open up MAP - find your destination high vector - click on path and tune in - turn on A.I to fly it for u. and just sit back relax - enjoy the view. its beautiful during rainy and night landing. all you do is change plane view - and enjoy

I've gotten to appreciate X-Plane more this year, well yes it is NOT perfect but no sim is truly perfect every sim has caveats while X-Plane may have more compared to its biggest competitor and its likely not targeted at the same audience as MSFS. The biggest caveat is the scenery even with enhancement for me this does not take away from the enjoyment the planes feel a lot more alive to fly whilst some addons still feel great compared to their MSFS counterpart and the UI is like a godsend compared to MSFS and configuring controls isn't painful and doesn't have unnecessary steps. Big steps have also been made to improving its graphic which helps it to compete and competition is good. Not to mention how it also natively supports macos and linux however for linux is held back by how navigraph has no interest in natively supporting it however essentials like navdata and charts still work but without tracking.
