Pretty sure +80% of the first ~12 reviews were paid for, bots, or dev friends, which doesn't sit well with me. That said, the game is alright. Has some nice ambiance, but lacking in meat when compared to similar, prolific games. If there were more content and customization, this would be an easy recommend. As-is, it's more of a 5/10 StS sci-fi trip. There are some neat ideas and props for trying some new things (ex. The 3 energy types, the deck queue) but all in all it's just kind of middling. There isn't much deck variation, the compendium is lacking, the path 'choices' are rather linear, there are questionable balance issues, there's only one 'character' to select, there are no increased difficulty settings or challenges to make one want to play another run. For an indie game, I think it's a pretty neat project design-wise and it still kept me busy for several hours. So I suppose that's worth $10. Pretty on the fence about this one. Might check back to see if there are any content ...

About the Game
The Reimagined Deckbuilding Experience
The Underscore introduces unique mechanics to the genre, adding a new depth to tactical decisions.- Plan multiple steps ahead and beat the odds: the game has minimal randomness within cards and character actions. No cards like “do 1 to 5 damage on a rainy day, no dodges, no random criticals”
- Card queue instead of draw pile: cards come in a predictable queue, you know how soon that much needed card will come into play
- New tactical opportunities: carefully balance your upgrades or minmax all the way
- Build two decks every run: build Exploration deck to navigate the world and Battle deck to survive the encounters
Face the sci-fi alien world
You are a backup copy of a veteran pilot's mind, put into a hi-tech powersuit.Complete your task, discover the source of anomaly and find the reason why you were created.
Uncover more and more details every run, try to make the cycle stop.
Assemble the Exploration Deck
Every run you construct not only your battle deck, but also your exploration deck.Remove dangerous events and add synergetic improvements to form your path.
Gain more options
Every card has three possible actions associated with it. Pick one depending on the circumstancesBuild perfect combos
Break the rules and find outrageous synergies: build an optimal deck where you get triple value out of your every action.Supplement your battle deck with exploration cards that boost your strengths or weaken the deadly enemies.
Risk it all to get powerful submodules – a multi-purpose items that can be used once per battle.

Really engaging! Did not expect much, but the mechanics are really fun and original! I tried making a power-based deck and it carried me through the first chapter, but the boss decimated me Enjoy the build variety - many ways to play just like slay the spire
Kinda meh game overall, 5/10 at best. Has some nice atmosphere and ambiance. Interesting design of the cards and 'mana' you use to play them. Feels sort of bare-bones atm, enemies to unbalanced, plus the mana you use to play cards feels way too restricted. The whole game honestly feels too restricted. Wouldn't recommend the game in it's current state.
Played three runs, enjoyed every minute of the game. Fun, original, atmospheric. Really like the sci-fi setting because the medieval fantasy is in almost every deckbuilding game now. Having predictable cards queue makes the game more puzzle-like. As if it is more “roguelike puzzle”. Not so many other games like this. Not as polished as slay the spire, but definitely a step forward for the genre. If you like atmospheric storytelling without spoonfeeding you all the details, you’ll like this game
Abandoned game. I thought this game was very cool and interesting and wanted to see more of it. But, more never came.
Immensely fun experience. Big fan of Slay the Spire, glad to see devs experiment and improve the formula. Oh and the sci-fi setting is a nice addition.
Fresh new approach to deckbuilding games! Challenging but fun, really like unexpected synergies between battle and exploration cards
Has some neat ideas, like multiple energy types, being able to modify the encounter deck and permanently altering your battle deck from within battle, but there just isn't enough content to justify the purchase. I played 2-3 runs and felt I had seen everything. Also there has been 1 update since release almost a year ago. I don't feel I got my money's worth, and doubt I ever will.
Brilliant and challenging deckbuilder, adding multiple fresh ideas to truly stand out from the others. Looking forward to where the game will be heading throughout its Early Access, but I've been incredibly happy with the game already in its current shape! Recommended!
Very cool and exciting game! Just try it and you will play for a long time.
