In a Nutshell: While obviously unfinished and needs much more to beef out the actual gameplay, the gaming and visuals are enough to warrant the $20 for Early Access at this time. Once fully fleshed out, I believe this game will be well worth the full price of admission. Full Review After 13 Hours: The Bartending Career is the best imo, I've tried 3/4 of the careers and always return to that one. You'll make the most and it's the easiest to build to Max Level then buy into the Business and earn passive income. At this time there are no hobbies for our Denizens (arts, hacking, writing, gaming, etc) so you're pretty much just running around just earning money, spending money and earning more money. In the future I'd like to see more ways to spend free times. Remember that a place is always closer than it looks. There are shortcuts everywhere! It may seem easier to take the Taxi at first but it's wasteful and you'll never learn the map. Drive and learn where you are and where items o...

the game is good but needs sooo much expansion, very easy to complete in a short time and thus not worth the price they are charging, if the game was £5-£7 i would be happy to recommend to my friends but you can get much better games for cheaper. not to mention the DLCs the content on their should be part of the base game given the price of it, its a shame because it has so much potential!
Game has crazy potential. Ive always looked for a game just like this one. Lots of options of things to do. If the dev keeps updating and stays consistent this game could be huge.
I think this game will end up as an interesting mix of genres. When it first was released it seemed like The Sims killer (yes, another one), but it lacked the content and to be honest the characters weren't particularly an eye-candies (like Inzoi). But I started the game and found it quite catchy: you can earn money pretty fast, you can also drive fancy cars (that was my personal go-to for a bit of a chaos in my life). With next additions the story dived into some crime and I was like "wow, so now we are GTA". Again still not there (like with The Sims comparison) but something different, hence I stayed.... The next release and we are adding more content and life management options.... At this point I'm out of comparisons. I have no idea where this game is going, I'm hooked to see more, but I feel like this game will remain niche as it doesn't explore a particular genre at it's fullest... But what would I know?... Recommendation: for a person who might enjoy a bit of a chaos and weirdn...
grindy and soulless
Extremely empty, poorly optimized game that feels like a cheap GTA knockoff. Absolutely devoid of liveliness, and a regrettable purchase to say the least.
The idea in itself is good. However, there's still A LOT of work to be done. The camera is janky. I've tried multiple settings to try to ''fix''it to my likes, but it's still janky... Why would the sensitivity factor between outdoors and indoors be different ? not in the settings, but in experience. Graphics... well, not too bad, as long as you're moving. Stand still in the middle of the sidewalk and look at people. For a second, I thought I was still high from my latest magic mushroom trip... The story is a bit shallow. I haven't played much, but looks like a grind fest to make pizzas/serve beers/place pallets in a warehouse. The criminal arc seems to match other games out there where you manufacture drugs and sell them. Driving the cars, mind the janky camera, is reminding me of Indy 500 on Windows 3.1... Moving around feels painful. Can't even jump... and obstacles are, well, frustrating. Called in a friend to visit my appartment. Was in the hallway when I called....
THIS GAME IS GARBAGE IT CRASHES EVERY OTHER LOAD SCREEN OTHER THAN THAT ITS FUN
Honestly, great game! I will say it DOES need more content, It gets a lil boring after a while. All in all well worth the price, especially if they keep updating it!!!!
Denizen, developed and published by Departure Interactive, is an ambitious life simulation game set in the sprawling urban landscape of Cedar Shores. Currently in early access, the game offers a sandbox experience where players can carve out their own path—taking on jobs, managing resources, and exploring a stylized city with the goal of building a meaningful existence. Unlike more gamified sims, Denizen takes a grounded, first-person approach to daily life, with a focus on realism and immersion. It puts you in the shoes of a regular person trying to make ends meet, where every meal, shift, and dollar earned has a tangible purpose. While the game is far from complete, it lays down an intriguing foundation with hints of where it could eventually shine. One of Denizen’s standout features is its atmospheric presentation. The city of Cedar Shores is visually engaging, with well-crafted lighting, textures, and layouts that create a believable modern environment. Players can move throug...
