Withering Rooms
Another hidden gem on Steam in the survival horror genre, and a roguelike on top of that. In my opinion, it’s the best indie survival horror of the year, and possibly one of the best in general. The 2.5D presentation with highly stylish art and visuals, excellent narrative, engaging location exploration, and a dream-related theme (which I personally find very appealing) make me want to praise and recommend this game to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3508482751 Honestly, when I first launched it, I expected a 5 to 10 hour experience with nice visuals, some wandering around, minimal combat, and light puzzles. Instead, I got a full-fledged 20 plus hour adventure with New Game Plus, a new ending, and a branching finale, leaving me completely delighted with the game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3508482636 It’s stylish, dark, features build crafting, and has a fairly large ca...

Legitimately unique, mad underrated. Combat is charmingly rough but the real fun is the puzzles and finding loot. Really nifty curse mechanic, that is comparable to insight from bloodborne, but way more volatile. Setting is interesting, gameplay loop so far hasn't gone stale wake up dude, death is not the end
A great survival horror game. The game has great story and atmosphere, although it is not that scary. It takes a lot of influence form classic survival horror games and bloodborne. The puzzles are pretty good but i would not buy the game just for them. The story is great and I would buy it if you are the least bit interested in it from the trailer.
i was fighting a witch with poison so she used medicine to cure it. i switched to cursing her and she put down a cleansing candle. so then i pulled out my revolver and shot her dead. what im trying to say is this game is fantastic, the definition of a hidden gem. it's not just that it's got a fascinating and refreshingly different structure than most, it's that all the systems work together without "cheating" as such. enemies follow the same rules you do making it feel amazing to work within the game rules to get an advantage and beat encounters. beyond that it's just a really well made and designed game, with lots of systems in place to make it comfortable to play despite the punishing difficulty. info is logged, enemy stats are revealed after the first kill, the map tells you what important things are in each room and if you have all the loot, puzzles have the option to pay for a skip, you're warned before the game transitions to a new phase, etc etc. and that's not even touching the...
Very fun game, takes a little bit to get used to, but after that it's a blast.
Spooky Soulful Stylish
Definitely play the demo before buying to see if it's for you. Can be buggy at points, but well worth buying on sale. I really enjoyed it!
Very fun and easy to follow occult story with extremely fun class building and combat.
This game is fkn incredible. If you want a resident evil x souls like game with a gothic victorian aesthetic, this is for you. Lots of fun monsters, puzzles, and build variety. The lore of the dream is amazing. 10/10
