About This Game

Millions of people around the world believe we have been visited in the past by extraterrestrial beings.

Did ancient aliens really help to shape our history? If they did, might they have come here to escape some cataclysmic event on their home planet? Or perhaps… to prevent one from happening on ours?

What if it were true?

Based on HISTORY’s longest running TV show, Ancient Aliens, Ancient Aliens: The Game explores the endless possibilities in our universe!

Play as a reluctant alien-human hybrid in this casual strategy city building game. Manage your resources and strategize carefully as you discover the story-driven experience as aliens shape ancient Egyptian culture.

Don’t hesitate to research strange new information, task your citizens with buildings and constructions, and engineer with alien technology. The fate of the Earth might depend on it!

Inspired by the famous theory that aliens were the true pioneers of ancient Egyptian culture, Ancient Aliens: The Game puts you in direct contact with those very extraterrestrials. Tasked with overseeing the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza, you will uncover long-buried evidence along with an ancient astronaut theorist—and learn the truth from the aliens themselves!

Abduct primitive humans, manipulate their DNA, and help them establish modern civilization as you exploit Earth's mineral wealth. But it won’t be easy. To build something as colossal as the Pyramid of Giza, you’ll need to build houses and farms, advance human technology, and more.

So take on Ancient Aliens: The Game! Manage your strategy in this casual simulation game, build your city, and save the planet!

Key features:

  • Experience the story written by bestselling author and award-winning game writer Steven-Elliot Altman

I kept hoping that this would be a lot more that what it looked like on the surface. It is not. What is is game really? It is more an incremental game masquerading as a colony/city builder. It is also mobile game poorly ported to the PC. Which is sad because the concept could be great. But this is nothing more than a cash grab. I don't recommend this "game" It is a waste of time and money better spent elsewhere.

Overall, it is a pretty good game. Though, the biggest problem with the game is that it keeps playing even after you save and quit the game. It is supposed to be a single player game, but it acts like a MMO game. As all timers keep running after you quit the game. As it is right now, you will have to play the game all the way thru without going to bed or anything otherwise you my loose things in the game expecitally from Glyphs. After several hours of play, it is having major problems with having a fatal error and has to restart often. If the issue of the timers are fixed where they actually stop when you exit the game and then start again from where they left off and not springing forward to say hey you lost a lot of stuff because you didn't play the game, and get the issue fixed of the fatal errors. I would be willing to change my recommendation.

I went into this game thinking it was going to be bad. I bought this game to stream it, as a bit of a meme; so I knew when I went in that I was not getting the next Civilization or Age of Empires. However, this game commits what is possibly the biggest sin a game can commit. It raised my expectations out of the gutter, only to have zero pay off, and leave them back where they belonged. As I said, I went in knowing it would be bad, but the opening of the game is actually rather good. They introduce you to buildings and tech trees, they tell you that you need to make sure the people's needs are met so they continue to breed and work. The goal is to build a pyramid, and as you gain more workers and level them up you start to feel like "hey maybe this isn't so bad". However, just about the time where other games would start to go more in depth with their mechanics, this one just stops. Taking care of your villagers amounts to making sure you have enough houses and farms. Once you have on...

I originally played this on mobile and was upset after piling months into building my pyramids that the game was never able to be finished so I bought it on steam when it was released again despite thinking that it wasn't really suited to a PC environment. In a way I was right. This game is suited to playing for a couple of minutes at a time, especially once you've got the upgrades on buildings and it takes longer for them to generate their earnings. the ability to use a mouse to place buildings etc was great if you want to be precise with how you're building your city, but I found a few differences between mobile and pc that made the game easier in almost a boring way. Technology research times were brought way down which meant there was a lot of time between researching just to earn the DNA to start the next tech. And maybe it was just because I played before so knew that I should upgrade as much as a could when I could afford it that for most of the time the only quest I had...

You are looking for a game that at first glance is not worth the money? You have found it. The graphics seem to be from the same era in which the game is set. The gameplay is... well... simple. Let me put it this way: it feels like a 1970s simulation a la David Ahl and a smartphone game from the 2000s have conceived an illegitimate child. But: The game is fun for me (unfortunately). For fans of EvD & Co. it is a must anyway. For everything else: For five dollars/euros in the sale you can have a look.
