Was lent this on PS3 back when it came out by a friend who claimed it was one of the best games he'd ever played. I tried it but was unimpressed by everything except the graphics and dropped it a few hours in. I thought I'd give a it second shot since I picked up a load of Prince of Persia games in a recent sale and in fairness it gets considerably better later in the game. I was a bit worried the game was going to make me collect all the blue orbs dotted around the levels but turns out you only need half of them and by just mainly grabbing the low hanging fruit on my way through the area's I'd got all I needed by the second boss. Graphically it stills looks great as it was always stylised, the parkour is very fluid and the combat although far too easy is quite fun, 1 on 1 timing based with the odd QTE thrown in. Technically no problems except the complete inabilty to remap my controls even using Steam input, its always Xbox style no matter what. Its not perfect, the parkour s...

About This Game
Built by the same award-winning Ubisoft Montreal studio that created Assassin's Creed™, Prince of Persia has been in development for over three years to deliver a whole new action-adventure gaming experience to consumers.
With a whole new Prince, storyline, open world environments, combat style, signature illustrative graphical style and the addition of Elika, a deadly new ally, Prince of Persia brings the franchise to new heights of deadly acrobatic artistry and is set to become the #1 action-adventure game of 2008 this holiday season.
- A new hero emerges: Master the acrobatics, strategy and fighting tactics of the most agile warrior of all time. Grip fall down the face of a building, perform perfectly timed acrobatic combinations, and swing over canyons, buildings and anything that is reachable. This new rogue warrior must utilize all of his new skills, along with a whole new combat system, to battle Ahriman's corrupted lieutenants to heal the land from the dark Corruption and restore the light.
- A new epic journey begins: Escape to experience the new fantasy world of ancient Persia. Masterful storytelling and sprawling environments will deliver to action-adventure fans an experience that rivals even the best Hollywood movies.
- A new open world structure: A first for the Prince of Persia franchise now you have the freedom to determine how the game evolves in this non-linear adventure. Players will decide how they unfold the storyline by choosing their path in the open-ended world.
- Emergence of a deadly new ally: History's greatest ally is revealed in the form of Elika, a dynamic AI companion who joins the Prince in his fight to save the world. Gifted with magical powers, she interacts with the player in combat, acrobatics and puzzle-solving, enabling the Prince to reach new heights of deadly high-flying artistry through special duo acrobatic moves or devastating fighting combo attacks.

I'm having good word for this game, but bad review for developers called Ubisoft. their support is the worst support i had of them all. My account was compromised on ubisofts side and i showed em proof of hacked account and that i'd like to retrieve it but nooooo they want me to login to that very same account that is not in my possession anymore so i can't obviously login and again and again i get the same mail from them. So every game that is purchased on steam and developer is UBISOFT IS NOW UNPLAYABLE CAUSE THEY DON'T DO THEIR "JOB". Steam was here for GAMERS in seconds to help retrieve accounts even EA is better than UBISOFT, they may be bit greedy but UBISOFT is getting more greedy than EA
The ending sucks!
Ubisoft, you piece of useless garbage, your games cant ever start!
The Game itself is pretty fun. Pros: - Stunning Game Design - Gorgeous Soundtrack - Graphics that hold up somewhat well - Lots of Parkour - Beautiful Environments Cons: - "Epilogue" DLC that is IMPORTANT to the Story itself is missing in the PC version. - Sometimes in the PC version, certain prompts don't activate from time to time. (Mostly when using Plates.) - Game's Story ends on a Massive Cliffhanger that's been Abandoned and left Un-Continued. - Certain placements of Light Seeds. It's a 7.5/10 for me. Still a Gorgeous game, just haunted by the fact the Narrative was abandoned and will most likely not appear in Future Prince of Persia games despite the massive Cliffhanger. I'd recommend it.
I am so happy I finished the game, not for the satisfaction mind you, because I won't have to touch it ever again. Despite being a PoP fan, this game felt too much like a chore to play rather than it being a Prince of Persia title. People who love platformers and who enjoy the puzzler-aspect of PoP are gonna enjoy this entry but throughout the runtime of the game it is gonna get on your nerves. I could care less, I could give a fucking rat's ass about the goddamn piece of shit light seeds bro, I just wanna get that out of me because I FUCKING HATE IT. Now half of the crashing out is out of the way, I did enjoy my time with the game here and there. Nolan's voice acting with the entertaining writing and the dynamic between Elika and the Prince and their characters flourishing by the hour you're playing is really nice to see. The story? Meh. It's a huge meh, honestly. The animations on the other hand are supremely well-done and still hold up to this day which surprised me a lot and ...

Reboot was good, the game was ready for a new direction, but Ubisoft decided to drop the game for ages then comeback with flop
It pains me to leave a negative review on this, as there is much to love in this game, but there is more to dislike. The mechanics and combat is very outdated. Combat is strictly QTE based, and they are constantly random. you never know which form of dodge/counter the game is going to ask from you and you have a very small window to recognize the input it asks for and then press 1 of 5 buttons. I finished 3/4 of the game, but had to stop for my own well being, simply because of the janky combat and QTE, it got awful after 11 hours. Parkouring around the maps, learning the story, talking to Elika (your companion) is a lot of fun. And I can appreciate old timey jank in older games to an extent, but this was to much. This is just a fair warning. if you love QTE and have amazing finger dexterity, and appreciate older game mechanics, this is a lot of fun. But I can not leave a positive review on a game that made me hate it so much I quite and uninstalled during one of the last sub bos...
This game is simply amazing. I’ve completed it three or four times now, and each run has been just as enjoyable as the first. While it may not have the most advanced combat system or the most challenging parkour, the way everything comes together creates a kind of magic - that special “chemistry” that keeps you fully engaged every second of it. p.s. This game does not start well on modern systems - in my case I had to turn on v-sync, but others report that it may not help
