GreedFall II: The Dying World

Dialogue heavy in a made up language with subtitles, following a mediocre story. Combat, as described by many other reviews, is unfortunately just not good. Its a shame to have an interesting magic system and relatively unique weapons feel so detached and tedious to use. Its clear they tried to go in a more "tactical" direction than Greedfall 1, which toed the line and had some ARPG elements. The real issue is that Greedfall 1's combat is now relatively dated, and this is undeniably worse. Simply does not stand up in 2025. Love the world, but won't get to experience it unless combat gets a massive overhaul prior to full launch. Just can't suffer through how slow paced it is. Not really what I'm looking for in a swordplay / gunplay game.

This is a luke warm thumbs up. There are a lot of things I don't like about it. But there are just enough pluses to sway me towards a positive review but only because its still in in its early stages. I don't like prequels, if only because I feel like I'm reading a book that the ending is known. Gameplay is annoying, the characters are split, some or interesting while others are idiots. The world is impressive but might not play well on your pc. I believe they have a lot to do, the current release is up to Olima.

As a fan of rpgs this game is pretty good yes there can be some things fixed but the world is beautiful. Also there is alot to to and it seems to keep getting better and better as it goes through early access. Hopefully they fix a few issues before the final product is released but for the money right now its well worth it.

This game has a LOT of potential!! Its in early access, don't expect smooth things. - Lightning seems off - Some skills take too much time to cast, and kinda loose thier point. - Attacking from stealth is quite underwhelming, it seems there is no real benefit. I actually like the battle system, it reminds me so much of Dragon Age Origins. I wish there were more spells for the mage, or more diversity to it, skills kinda seem underwhelming. Icons for consumables and UI could deff be improved. While not in pause, clicking on another companion should be allowed, rather than pausing clicking the companion and then doing the action you want. Some quick heal would be also good. Idk if anyone played with traps on GF1 I found them useless, specially in higher difficulty, maybe I'm just dumb and I don't play the game correctly, but I find traps uselss here too... its very situational and feels like a waste to use them. Also the exploting barrels, the barely do...

A few hours in, and this game really scratches the Dragon Age itch. The combat takes some getting used to, but hoping that a few more hours and it'll feel more intuitive.
