Staring into the flames, I feel something... It is a curious mixture of hope and dread. Maybe everything will be okay. Maybe it won't.

About This Game
A survival horror game, where you’ll test yourself against puzzles and riddles as you investigate the eerie tranquility of the abandoned theme park. Don’t be deceived by the whimsical surroundings, something is awfully wrong in Crow Country.
As you unlock new areas, backtrack and discover more, you gradually piece together why Edward really shut down his park and where he mysteriously disappeared to. You’ve heard some pretty disturbing rumors, but they couldn’t possibly be true…..right?
For visitors to the park who are more interested in spotting crows and taking in the sights, Exploration Mode allows you to journey on without the fear of being attacked by the mysterious monsters roaming Crow Country. If you knew what those monsters really are…..
Just how far would someone go to follow their ambition? Are some sins too wicked for redemption?
A tale of reckless hubris and human greed, and now at the center of it all... you.
Who are you really, Mara Forest?

Love the art style, but the game itself just doesn't seem very good. The controls are annoying. The story is is instantly forgettable. The way resources work feels tailored to optimise any joy out of the process. Puzzles are mostly lame. And the game plasters control scheme reminders in every room to break up any atmosphere it was trying to build.
I was following the development of Crow Country as it released through posts on Twitter. I got it day 1, but unfortunately had to put off playing due to focusing more on my academics. Flash forward to now, I have finally received my degree and have been itching for something to enjoy. Browsing through my steam library, this game once again caught my eye. It took me 6 hours to complete [Achievement Spoilers]
outside of S-rank
and it has been such an incredibly fun ride. As I delved into the story more, I became more and more engrossed. By the time I had gotten closer to the end, [Possible story spoilers]
I thought that I had seen where it would be going, but absolutely adored the direction it ended up going in.
With that being said, Crow Country in of itself is a love letter to the classic Resident Evil games. So much so, that it stands out as more than a love letter. It stands on its own two legs to such a wonderful degree, with its environme...
People will tell you this is the Final Fantasy 7 of Resident Evil likes. And while there is truth to that, it only goes skin deep in describing the experience Crow Country is. Yes, the game is cozily gorgeous, the puzzles creative and fun, the combat (that you can skip playing the exploration mode) clunky at times but more than serviceable for a survival horror game. But the story and the means it is conveyed, the layers, the twists and conclusions are nothing short of masterful. I mentioned the option to play this with effectviely no combat encounters for a reason. Sure, you'd miss out on some of the tension that comes with the genre, but I feel it is a perfectly valid way to experience this work of narrative art. I'm sure to do just that for my second playthrough. 2024 was an insane year for indie horror, and Crow Country's reputation for being one of the best of a plethora of great games is well deserved. You should play it.
An amazing short game that every Resident Evil OG lover should play, it's a true homage to it. A must-play
Very well executed game. The visuals, music, sounds, and exploration were all engaging and fun to take in.
Highly recommend this game, it is a fantastic piece of art. I look forward to more from this developer.
Good message but janky controls and too short [Eng and Pt-Br review]
I understand the game's plot and message, and I really like the idea, but as a game Crow Country is weak. This game is quite popular, and things of this genre are always on my radar, but I expected more from this game. Yes, the visuals are pretty cool, but the gameplay is terrible. The game wasn't designed as a tank mode, and even the modern mode has problems because half your time in this game will be spent fighting the camera. It's incredible how the game managed to revive the worst part of N64 games. The camera is very close to the MC, capturing little on the screen. Furthermore, oftentimes, part of the scenery will block your screen. The free-aim system is also pretty cool on paper, but in practice, it's very janky and annoying. It's a weak survival horror. As someone mentioned before, the game is just a escape room. While yes, puzzles are always part of this genre, in Crow Country you're constantl...
Great old-school survival horror. Recommend changing the controls to modern unless you've got a strong desire to _really_ feel like you're playing it on a PS1.
Crow Country left me in awe with how the monsters are modeled, each section of the game's environment had me running around the map just to see the details of it, the game tends to catch you by surprise story-wise and leaves more questions than answers for the player. I've played through the game on both PC and Deck but in my personal opinion, this game suits as a Deck game
