About the Game

Pax Dei is still heavily in development and not yet feature-complete. We expect all aspects of the game will require balancing and polish. Throughout Early Access, we plan to expand the game in terms of content and systems. Major updates will require us to wipe the game and start over. Pax Dei’s Early Access is scheduled to last until at least Autumn 2025, possibly longer.

WHAT WORLD WILL YOU MAKE?

Welcome to a vast, social sandbox MMO inspired by the legends of the medieval era. Here, myths are real, ghosts exist, and magic is unquestioned. In this immense, open-world playground, you choose the role you want to play. Immerse yourself along with thousands of other players as you explore the land, build your home, forge your reputation, and craft your own stories.

A PLACE TO CALL HOME

Travel the relative safety of the Heartlands and find the perfect plot of land on which to build your home. Protected by the grace of the Divine, your village is a safe harbor where your Clan can grow and prosper.

Everything in this world is produced by the players' hands and skills. Your village needs clothes, walls, food, flowers, and prayers. Your Clan, weapons, and armor. Others require tools, materials, or mysterious reagents. It’s easy to find your place and play your part in this breathing world.

EXPLORE UNCHARTED LANDS

Adventure awaits as you set foot into the Wilderness. Here, you’ll battle evil beings, uncover mysteries of an ancient and wondrous past, and square off against rival Clans as you struggle for power, position, and resources.

A word of warning: The further you journey from home, the stranger and more dangerous this world becomes. The glory, bounty, and secrets you bring back will enrich your entire Clan. How much challenge are you willing to accept? That’s for you to decide.

EVERYONE MATTERS

Skinning a basilisk, choosing between war and peace, picking flowers: it all matters. In a fully player-driven world, all play styles connect and complement each other. Join the community and be part of the stories about to take shape.

DISCOVER PAX DEI EARLY ACCESS

Pax Dei is currently in Early Access. The game is still heavily in development. Here is a snapshot of what’s already there for our Founders to enjoy.

  • Explore a vast world - We've recently doubled the size of the world, now offering five Provinces covering nearly 300km² (116 mi²). There are over twenty valleys to choose the perfect spot to inhabit.

  • Harvest and craft away - Everything in the game is made by players. Travel across different biomes, harvest dozens of resources, and unlock hundreds of recipes already available!

  • Build your home - Place your plot and claim a corner of the world to yourself. With dozens of building pieces to work with, the only limit to creating the home of your dreams is your imagination… and our structural integrity system.

  • The tools of the trade - Set up a market stall on your plot to showcase goods, crafted items, or rare resources. Use the gold you bring back from your adventures to trade with other players.

  • Call the Divine's favor - Spend Grace to perform Miracles providing you with powerful--or practical--abilities and bonuses.

  • United we stand - Form a Clan to pool resources, combine plots, build an entire village--or a massive fortress! You’ll need friends and allies to storm dungeons or clash with other Clans.

  • Discord-powered chat system - Link your Discord account and keep the conversation going even outside the game. ‘want to check what your Pax Dei friends are up to? Just open Discord, et voilà!

  • Craft your own role - With hundreds of items for mixing and matching and skills to master, you will have no lack of choices in deciding your own play style.

  • It is dangerous to go alone - Mysterious ruins and hidden dungeons filled with treasures await… guarded by merciless foes. Don’t wander away from home without a party and the proper equipment.

  • Welcome to fight club - Divine peace doesn’t extend to Lyonesse, our new province. Enter here at your own peril, if you’re willing to try out our first iteration on PVP. Here, death carries consequences.

  • More to come - Our team is hard at work fixing, polishing, and expanding the game. The next major update will focus on the social fabric and the economy.

For anyone planning on picking up this game PLEASE READ. - if you like survival MMO's you will probably really like this game for 50 hours or so, Then you hit a wall trying to get xp for your crafting skills. You would truly need a group of 8 people playing at an unemployment level of dedication to progress. i have roughly 75 hours in this game and i was truly still excited at 50 hours to keep playing but after wasting so much time making things to lvl up skills and having no one to sell anything to it became a burden more than fun. - Next point is that this game is on its death bed- At time of writing 8/18/25 - there is only a high of 250 people online for the past 24 hours. - Last thing and the thing that Killed the game completely is the subscription. Its like buying a car and having to pay every month to keep the steering wheel and the tires. - The TLDR is dont buy this game unless you have a dedicated group of people to play with and even then reconsider your life choices and p...

I actually enjoyed this game for a while because it is beautiful and the game mechanics are fun. I was chopping wood and mining iron and leveling up as a blacksmith to make things for my neighbors and to be able to build a nice house but as I went the amount of xp required and the amount of materials required just got more and more insane. I put in around 150 hours and I paid for the 4 plots of land in the early access and then reading that they are going Live soon and will make people pay a subscription to have land is such BS I am done and can't recommend it. The devs need to realize they went in the wrong direction here after building a beautiful fun game, not only making it miserable as you progress but then getting greedy with the subscription model. I paid for the damn game AND the upgrade. I'd probably buy more land parcels and other special stuff over time but no way in hell am I paying a subscription to avoid losing my land and complex builds.

Selling a game for 30€ and then pumping at least 10€ per month out of players to keep the percs they already had(and are essential to the core gameplay for EVERY player) is the best way to destroy a community and anger early supporters. Don't buy the game! These practices should not be supported. For me it is a clear case of uninstall and forget that it existed. Unless the developers make a complete turnaround, I wish them bankruptcy.

Beautifuly crafted world with one of the best building systems I encountered in recent years. Relaxing pacing makes venturing to gather ingredients an adventure in itself. However leaving players to their own devices might become a double edged sword so hopefuly Devs will manage to breathe more life into it comes release. I enjoyed my 249 hours and can recommend this game tho definitely not for everyone.

First Off: Mainframe - You are heading in the WRONG direction here. I'll elaborate later. With Verse 3 part 2 being released today and seeing such a small amount of improvements and changes, and a sheer reduction in the quality of the UI, I'm prompted to write this review Some positives: Verse 3 introduced more enhanced combat mechanics, new spells, and a reworked gear system. Those are all improvements to a degree. Well done! The environment is still beautiful, and the added cloud effects are a nice touch. Now the bad: The Devs left everyone who specializes in Cooking, Alchemy, or Jewelry skill lines out in the cold for too long. The re-balance in XP, as well as the 10X base HP increase without improving the food and pots has made leveling any of these skills such a frustratingly stupid grind that it's no longer fun. The crafting loop has gotten worse since every update after marketplace. Dungeon delving is also somewhat pointless now since the boss drops only result i...

It is a nice environment but for a monthly subscription fee and a pay to win system I wouldn't recommend this game. Your plot for building is round and your buildings for the most part are square, yes they expect you to place a square peg in a round hole. It wastes space in your plot and requires you to purchase more plots to build something nice. The building system is really lacking in fine control and lacks some simple options of utilizing the x,y,z axis's on blocks and items. At times you can't place things in a controlled manor and have to improvise to build things. The grind skilling up the different trades is exhaustive, but looks like they will give a 50% skill experience to subscribers (pay to win). The combat system is very basic and not very engaging. The durability of items is kind of a joke and after 1-5 fights your gear can be broken requiring repairs which can only be repaired a certain amount of times before it is useless. By the time you get/find some items th...

So much wasted potential. Wait to purchase. The game looks absolutely beautiful. The world is enormous, with amazing views. But some major mechanics were fumbled. Currency was pointless, since there isn't much to buy - or any real value to crafted items considering its so easy to level skills. You just need to craft 10,000 items. Which floods the market with goods - since there's no recycling. Largely you're crafting 100s of pieces of gear, and throwing it on the ground because no one will buy it. And then they decided to put land ownership behind a subscription. HUGE disappointment. I already paid to play the game as is - i'm not interested in paying a monthly sub to build a house. land ownership, and building, is a major game feature that is or will be locked behind an additional fee. I can't legitimize a monthly sub for an unfinished game with low population. I spent 2 days of playtime before seeing another real person.

Can’t believe I got scammed by this game. They are going to charge you a monthly fee for an unfinished product!!!

I tried, but the game did not improve, devs don't listen to the people that leave but to the few fanatics that still play, criticism is not welcome. Combat sucks, poorly optimized, changed the crafting system throughout the EA twice instead of focusing on things that matters like combat, world building, optimization, etc. Do not spend your money here.

You should NOT play this game. They duped us into believing that our Early Access purchases (I paid $150) would guarantee us so many plots and now we have to RENT what we already own... Bad Form!
