About This Game

Kinetic: Break All Limits is a high speed 2d platformer with a focus on different types of movement. You play as Kin, a resident of a remote world, who must rescue his home from the existential threat of an alien menace and save his family.

He's always had a talent for athletics, but with his new suit technology, it feels like anything is possible. Interact with all shapes and kinds of terrain. Fly, jump, swing, and bounce through the world in whatever way you can imagine to reach your goals. Rather than a health bar, Kinetic uses a timer that slowly depletes. Getting hit by enemies will take away chunks of your remaining time, but destroy enemies to add to the timer and make it to the end of the level!

Inspired by games like Megaman X4 and Super Smash Bros. Melee, Kinetic is a fresh experience of movement and close-up combat with its own intricacies and tricks to explore.

-Rollback netplay multiplayer. Fight other players, race them through levels, explore new places, and more!
-Fully integrated level editor! Create new levels easily, upload them to the Steam Workshop, or host custom matches to share them with your friends!
A lot of work has gone into make the level editor extremely fluid. Make complex maps in very short amounts of time!

A 15 year passion project made between two wonderful people fully realized. The level editor for this game is really cool and deep so if you enjoy designing levels in that sense this game has a good way to scratch that itch. Not to mention, this game has steam workshop support with the potential to import your own backdrops -- this means that as time goes on I expect to see a lot of cool levels designed given the incredibly freeflowing dynamic of the level editor and the vast array of enemies and entities to put within the maps. On top of this, there is parallel play and free play which means you can play both the base game alongside your friends and also the custom maps you made alongside/ against them. This game offers endless potential for new content in both the form of racing and also PvP, which really speaks to the engine itself. If you enjoy high execution testing movement and complex platforming mechanics with a great art and sound direction, you have picked the right game. I c...

Initially, I really enjoyed this game. I think the core mechanics are sick, and I think there is so, SO much potential for a really fun and mechanically deep experience. However, there is one thing in my eyes severely limiting this game: the level design. For a game titled *Kinetic: Break All Limits*, I really expected insane fast-paced movement and slick tricks to speedrun each level. And the game delivered on this amazingly... For about two levels. IMO, 1-1 and 1-6 are the only levels I played that really satiate the need for speed. Most of the other levels have unnecessarily complicated layouts that make it very difficult to actually build any speed at all, causing this game to become just a platformer with awkward mechanics. It's incredibly jarring to build up huge speed on some slopes just to be slammed right into a slightly angled ceiling, or to tilt your control stick slightly backwards, and lose all of your built up momentum. Getting through World 1 (of 6) felt like a slog a...

It just isn't fun for me, didn't entice me to play more, felt no desire to continue, it's a perfectly fine game, just isn't for me

Very good base and foundation for what can become a really great and fun game to play. You can definitely feel the inspiration taken with similar games in this genre. The mechanics do take a bit to learn and can make your playtime a bit frustrating at first, especially if you do not have much experience in this genre, however, once learned, it translates to a very enjoyable experience. The music is fun and helps add to the experience. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one for its future updates.
