A difficult game to review-- I was very excited to find a game where you get to take care of adorable little buggos, and was very excited to get to spoil them. I was not, however, prepared for the death. The game warns you about it, and makes overtures to the bugs living on through their descendants, but I found that this clashed with the way in which the game also anthropomorphizes the bugs, ascribing to them emotions, etc. Essentially, if the game had more 'realistically' depicted insect/arthropod husbandry, where the bugs are more or less indifferent to their caretakers, and you have to observe carefully to ascribe personality, then the circle of life/ecological focus would have been much more palatable. This game, however, has you petting the bugs, displaying their 'favorite' furniture, describes what the bugs want, gives little hearts when you interact with them, etc. All of this is wonderful, but feels like a gut punch once the bug passes away-- something that happens every 45...

why is this game so emotional
Utterly charming game with a heartfelt story line. I love how they implemented the life cycles of the bugs. Both art and UI design I found to be quite enchanting. I would love to see more feature updates in the future!
cute and cozy game that i enjoyed playing while watching something else on the side. it shows the whole life cycle of each bug, including its death, so be aware of that. would recommend this more if the price point were a bit lower.
