Everhood 2 exists similarly but diametrically opposed to Everhood (1). Both are very good games and fufill their stories well, but they are NOT the same thing. Everhood is a story, a path. You can take courses but there is an ending, and satisfaction from that. Its combat and dodging are a part of that and it is good. Everhood 2 is chaos without true end, it is combat and struggle. It too is good but it does not have the same TYPE of satisfaction as the original. TLDR Everhood 1 and 2 are very different games and both are good but do not expect the same from one for the other. Music be balling yo. I fully expect there to be a third one eventually though that ties these two opposing paths together though. I cannot escape the feeling that there is a missing *something* from the end of both of these.

This is a game that actively mocks you for playing it. The combat is okay for the most part, but everything else? The story is nonsensical, filled with random parts that weren't explained. You can just be locked out of some collectibles because you turned at the wrong spot. The God Machine is just pure RNG fest for an achievement, because the developers just hate you. Just play Everhood 1. This is not worth it in a slightest.

i think for the majority of people, this is a love it or hate it kind of game. if you're into unique experiences, fun music, rhythm games, and/or just bizarre... stuff..., the everhood series is right up your alley. go in blind! i'm a big fan of both everhood games and did all the oneshots and nohits on both games on the hardest difficulty. everhood 2 stays faithful in a lot of ways. the art design is truly impeccable, i really like most of the characters (especially my future husband bobo), and i controversially thought the plot was fine! i've seen a lot of complaints about the music compared to the first everhood, but i can't relate, except in the sense that some songs lead to much easier fights. however, you will hear the same songs over and over again in a single playthrough, which will get annoying. despite the slander, the stupid spring head song is the ringtone for my phone alarm. unfortunately, despite a few big improvements, i didn't think this game was as memorable as the f...

I enjoyed this game, but for different reasons from the first game. In short, to limit spoilers, I liked the story of the first game much more than this one. But the combat in this game is MASSIVELY improved. Additionally, the themes of the two games differ by quite a bit, the first game about eternity, death, and the need for endings. This second game is more about the human condition, and how we all process grief and fear differently. I would say that if you're looking for a more action centered version of the story, this will certainly fill that desire comfortably. But if you're looking for a satisfying story with compelling themes and a satisfying ending, unfortunately it feels like the devs kinda gave up on it and didn't bother. It's telling that when entering a specific area, you're greeted with a long, drawn out thesis that they likely took from a psychology book somewhere, and that is so much less compelling and not nearly as thought provoking as one of the interactive objects ...

It seems that unfortunetly Foreign Gnomes overestimated their fanbase with Everhood 1 and hence why Everhood 2 being more abstract and less straight forward than the first one lead to people who can only look at the surface of a narrative say the game is bad, usually citing how the ending is bad. Well, spoiler alert:
Yes, that's the point. That's the whole "It never ends in Everhood" part. The whole point is that its about the journey and not the destination
. Game is great. It's different from Everhood 1 and that's a good thing, as you can't really follow up that with something similar. Battles have way more variety now. It's made to be more of a typical RPG. Music is great as usual, especially in the latter half of the game. It's somehow even more trippy than the last game. Characters are fun. In other words. I had a ton of fun and will be returning to it to make more "progress"

Only thing it improved on is the battle system but even that is ruined with the ridiculous amount of recycled fights. Just play everhood 1 this game aint worth it

after playing and enjoying the first game, this game is worse than the first in every aspect, except artstyle and how long it is. The fights are repetitive and get boring after a while, the music isnt bad or good, its just there, which for a rhythm game is kinda a downer... I personally didnt enjoy it as much as i expected i would, but i certainly recommend giving it a try if you want to.
