while it seems to have potential, i couldn't bear to play it long because of the frustrating mechanics (the thing that broke me was having no jump button, yet the first boss needs parkour to beat. the auto jump kept missing)

Way too many positive reviews for this game which is boring and clunky. Non-compelling (forced) dialogue, ugly models, poor animations, aggressive tutorial. Slightly helped by its artstyle but overall not worth even a try.

Game feels tedious. Movements are inconsistent and have no weight. Platforming is a chore. Characters are over-produced and yet bland

Polished gameplay and a motivating progression. I have way more fun with this game than I expected.

If the companies that make stock photos made a video game to sell to corporations for use in internal trainings, this would be the game they made. It isn't buggy or poorly made, but it's completely cardboard, souless, and lifeless. It is a game made by committee as specified by a corporate HR approved checklist. It is, however, neither entertaining or fun

I didn’t know anything about this game before starting it other than the art style. It’s what drew me to this game in the first place. I loved the art style the whole way through. This game reminds me of a cozy Zelda like experience. You travel to these zones and progress through the dungeons. Whenever you visit a new zone you’re tasked with getting the 2 magic spells you’ll be using in that zone and its dungeons. You only use those certain spells in those certain zones and dungeons. Then you come back to town to buy/sell gear and will have a chance to hangout with many of the locals. This part gave me some Stardew Valley vibes. As you become friendlier with the other characters, you unlock different perks. The game gives you a lot of freedom in this department. You don’t have to do a dungeon every day. You can explore and choose to rest at a scenic spot to increase some stats permanently. The story is interesting but it doesn’t really pick up until around your 10th in g...

Dungeons of Hinterberg is a refreshing and distinctive entry into the action-RPG space, blending dungeon crawling, puzzle solving, and social interaction into a bright, whimsical package that feels unlike anything else released in recent memory. Set in the quiet, fictional Alpine village of Hinterberg, the game introduces players to Luisa, a burnt-out lawyer looking to escape the grind of corporate life. What she finds instead is a world transformed by magical rifts and dungeons that have turned Hinterberg into a destination for adventurers and tourists alike. This contrast between idyllic mountain town and chaotic magical playground gives the game a unique tone—one that mixes laid-back charm with a surprising amount of introspection and challenge. The daily structure of the game is what initially pulls you in and keeps you engaged. Every in-game day is divided into segments: planning your route in the morning, exploring one of the 25 handcrafted dungeons or solving biome-specific p...

The dungeons are reminiscent of Zelda, with fun puzzles that aren't always obvious, even from the start. There's a social sim element to the game that I haven't explored much, but it does seem to be interesting because it draws from contemporary and historical Austrian/German/Swiss culture.

Honestly such a beautifully drawn game that is both calming and exciting with its puzzles and combat mechanics. Gameplay still feels a little stiff in parts and some of the traversal felt more restrictive then I would have liked but it was a solid game with a wonderful story. It definitely felt like the start of something great and i can't wait to see what is next from these developers.

Game was pretty fun. Would give it a 7/10. Game visually looked great, loved the design. Combat was decent, just a good hack and slash. Conduits really were fun to use. Dungeons were fun but not very challenging. I was hoping for a spike in puzzle difficulty but it never came. Boss fights were for the most part fine, Basilisk was pretty fun. Dialogue and characters interactions were not that interesting, and the whole day system did just slow it down too much for me. The premise of the story was interesting but it wasn't shocking or engaging. The only real negative opinion I have is that some of the movement in this game really annoyed me. The fact that you can not freely jump was real annoying. Many moments where I walk to an edge to look over only to auto jump off was so frustrating. Also the dodge in combat was just not responsive enough for me. Overall, decent game. Interested to play a sequel if it happens.
