About the Game

Wild Woods is a couch co-op game full of action, teamwork and woodland critters. One to four players take on the role of brave little cats defending their wooden wagon on its way through a dangerous forest.

Clever cooperation is key as their way is full of obstacles. While daytime is all about collecting resources and improving your trusty wagon, things get risky during the night. When the sun sets, bandit bunnies and badgers rally to attack! The feline friends must defend their wagon while ensuring their beacon fire does not die out.

During their journey players must consider how they want to approach the dangers of each adventure. Extra rewards await if they decide to go for challenging encounters! Will you keep stacking challenges to try and go for the biggest prize?
On the other hand, going a safer route might allow for more risk-free collection of resources. Discover the thrill of choosing your own level of risk β€” it's all part of the adventure.
Each journey has its own course and it is up to you to make wise decisions accordingly.

Play the way you want to. Multiplayer sessions in Wild Woods can be played locally, fully online, or with a mix of local and online players! Using the Remote Play Together feature, you can simulate local play even if your friends are in faraway places.
Chase new high scores with your friends and, while you are playing, unlock new skins for your favorite band of cats!

With my friend over, we looked through my couch-coop games list and tried this. It was alright at 1st. But we were both hit with disappointment when our run ended and we learned that it's entirely arcade style, restart from zero (you only earn cosmetics). Problem is, the game doesn't feel balanced for that. It felt like a good 1st run - that should have given some minor upgrades to create a sense of progression. If the game is going to start you feeling pressured and like the deck is stacked against you, you need to feel like you are winning somehow. But the lack of scale-able options to tailor play to different people just highlights that this game is ONLY for those who want to chase scoreboards against punishing rng. It has no interest in appealing to other types of people. The letdown of "wait, it's always going to be that way?" was too much. We were immediately done with it and jumped to other more rewarding coop games. (like ember knights)

A great game with a good potential but very short. It needs 2-3 more level The way you can upgrade your wagon is great and I love to choose between ways to take. Overall great but need a longer game play

This is a really cute game, but it's been "out" for almost a year....and there's just not enough here. Solo feels boring. I am sure it's more fun with friends, but I cant figure out what this game is. Is it supposed to be a cozy game? The combat feels like it's not. But then again, the combat doesn't feel like it's taking itself seriously, either. I think this game is struggling with its identity. I support small indie studios, and I am pretty sure I saw this at PAX East back in March 2024 which is why I bought it when it was released - but there's not enough here. This would be a lot more fun if the controls actually worked well, but they don't. The game suggests to use a game pad for a better experience, so I tried - and the game pad didn't even work. It's a standard XBOX controller and it works with literally every other game. I dunno. Feels like they tried, and the game is cute for what it is, but there's not enough good here to outweigh the bad. For that reason, I can't recommend...

Wish there was more variety in "builds"/upgrade choices but all in all the development for this game has proven to be a continued effort and the game as it stands is a good game to interact with friends/loved ones.

This game was so much fun! Positives: 1) Couch-coop mode works really well. Unlike in some other games, here you don't have to fight for the controls with another person. 2) I picked the medium (recommended) difficulty, and it was the right choice. Boss fights felt meaningful, and all attacks were well-telegraphed. 3) This game is friggin' cute! Props to the devs. 4) The gameplay feels unique, I've never seen a game like this. Negatives: 1) While you're moving, the game sometimes gives you information in the form of floating text boxes, and if you don't read them fast enough, they just go off screen. I would prefer the game to pause so I can read important information. 2) Totem mechanic was super unintuitive, and for a while we just thought that totems were bugged and didn't work properly. I don't wanna spoiler anything, but there's something you can get later in the game to have an easier time using them. Overall, highly recommend! This game is amazing and has great potential! Great, simple game. Lacking some replayability just due to the limited end-game, but it's a charming romp with very solid mechanics and engaging multiplayer strategy.
