About This Game

Under The Waves is a narrative-driven adventure game about the engulfing power of grief. Set in the depths of the North Sea in a techno-futuristic 1970s, professional diver Stan is struggling to overcome a life-changing loss and embrace a new future. The isolation of the deep sea is a fitting manifestation of his state of mind, and as Stan retreads further into his self-imposed solitude, he starts to experience strange events far beneath the waves. He will eventually have to make a difficult choice...

A love letter to the oceans, Under The Waves invites you to dive into a gorgeous underwater world, brought to life in a poetic blend of cinematic visuals and poignant storytelling. Live a gripping story through Stan’s eyes and guide him through an unforeseen series of events that will bring him deeper and deeper into the abyss, the reflection of his own psyche.
Wander the vast seabed piloting Stan’s submarine and encounter the beautiful wildlife, Stan’s only company while he’s trapped in his own mind. Explore caves, wrecks, and underwater plants with Stan’s special wetsuit, following the mysterious manifestations of his memories, to find a way back to the surface and save his life. Collect materials and craft equipment that will help Stan navigate further on this self-discovery expedition. You will have to dare get off the beaten track to experience mesmerizing moments and reveal more about the tragic past he is trying to escape...

A chill, narrative-based game with just enough actual gameplay to keep it from being called a "swimming simluator." I liked the exploration and discovery aspect the most, as the dev has crafted a vibrant little world to goof around in. The parts of the game where you aren't just free-swimming are a little more tedious, often moving at a plodding pace and forcing you to slowly turn dozens of valve wheels and push lever after lever. There are two interwoven stories here: the tale of a man dealing with grief, and a story of corporate negligence. The former is much more interesting. The latter, I really could not give less of a toot about. One major problem I have to point out for anyone who is considering going for both endings, is that for SOME REASON, the dev thought it would be a good idea to put the last checkpoint roughly an hour before the end of the game. So it's not just a simple "load and choose the other option" kind of situation. No, you have to struggle through a long, t...

I’m glad that I took a chance on this game and bought it blind, all because I liked how the graphics looked like for an underwater game. The game itself told a sad story and I think the developers did a really good job doing what they set out to do. When I think about this game, I do think that it is one of the best games that I’ve played. The games world is basically this one huge level where you go around doing missions and progressing the story. You collect materials, open chests, craft things and upgrades, and explore, and even take pictures. I thought that the controls for the game were really good and the game felt really good to play. One problem that I had, is that the game crashed on me twice. And that I couldn’t save manually. There were two choices at the end. I was happy with the choice that I made because I felt that it was the right thing to do and the better ending. I also tried the other ending but I would say that it’s the sad ending. Conclusion I think ...

Played it on the Steam Deck hooked up to the TV. I only had a couple crashes through the gameplay, not entirely sure what caused it. It's a pretty nice game, the feel of underwater is good, although there's some areas you have to be careful not to be crashing into every cave wall.

Definitively not worth full price at only ~8 hours, but still worth experiencing. It has 2 plot lines involving Stan's family, and the other of pollution. I believe the game ties these 2 threads together well enough, but I think the significance of his daughter's love for whales could have been brought in a bit earlier and/or with more emphasis. Overall; a decent game.

Like, hello??? Apakah cuma aku saja yang mendapati masalah seperti ini? Everytime i played another game used console and also keyboard, there's nothing wrong happened with...
