About This Game

One Deck Galaxy is the spacefaring successor to the hit roguelike One Deck Dungeon from Asmadi Games and Handelabra Games.

Roll your dice and cleverly use them to build up your civilization from its humble homeworld, growing to create a Federation spanning the countless star systems of Insula, a distant corner of our galaxy.

Each time, build a new civilization (or two) by combining a Homeworld and Society. Each Homeworld has a unique ability, starting tech, and milestone. Each Society has a unique ability, 3 milestones, and a unique tech that powers up the more milestones you achieve.

  • 5 Homeworlds: Elemens, Felisi, Plumplim, Timtillawinks, and Zibzab
  • 5 Societies: Botanists, Explorers, Guardians, Mathematicians, and Scientists

You’ll need to:
  • Establish colonies to gain more resources and most importantly: more dice!
  • Develop techs that grant you powerful new abilities.
  • Study locations and launch probes to further your scientific research.
  • Build fleets to extend your influence throughout the galaxy.
  • Achieve milestones that signify the growth of your civilization.

All of these goals are accomplished by effectively managing and using your dice, focusing your efforts on what you deem most important. All of your dice will be useful in some way, regardless of the roll, so One Deck Galaxy is a game more of strategy than luck!

Standing between you and your cosmic destiny each game is one of several Adversaries:

  • Neeble-Woober Colony Fleet - Sentient cephalopods with a simple belief: They're the best!
  • The Hungry Nebula - A mysterious space phenomenon that seems to swallow everything in its path.
  • The Optimization Calibrator - An Interstellar Social Media Entity that knows you, what you want to do, and what you should do.
  • Dark Star Syndicate - Just scientists asking questions! Like: "What if we turned off all the stars?"
  • Preservation Authority - Encasing planets in ice for their own protection and safety.

You’ll have to split your efforts between growing your own strength and confronting them directly. Every Adversary has its own set of rules and abilities, and you’ll need to come up with different plans and tactics to defeat each one!

You can either play individual game sessions, or play a 6-game progressive Campaign, providing you with opportunities to upgrade your abilities along the way. With hundreds of possible setups, One Deck Galaxy is a different experience every time you play!

One Deck Galaxy is an officially licensed product of “One Deck Galaxy” from Asmadi Games.

I really enjoy the game. I am happy to see a digital version. The game has a good tutorial to learn how to play along music that fits the gameplay. I recommend this game and One Deck Dungeon for card gamers.

Got this to make sure I was playing the physical game correctly, and thankfully I did because there were things that I had misunderstood.

There's a TON going on in this game and I found it difficult to follow what I should do in any given situation. The tutorial/rules were helpful, but only to a point. There were several times in the game when I was presented with a mechanic, but could not figure out how to implement the mechanic. In addition, outside of one or two of the race/society combos, many of the achievements required to progress your civilization are nearly impossible within the context of the game. The implementation of the game by Handelabra is very good, however. The interface is intuitive and easily navigated. Unfortunately, the game itself is just not enjoyable to me. Just like One Deck Dungeon, it is as if the designers chose to make the most difficult version of the game that they could. Winning at either game should be considered a monumental achievement. Ultimately, I have neither the time nor desire to suffer the constant frustration to figure the game out enough to have a chance at winning. ...

Although I did enjoy One Deck Dungeon for the most part, I found One Deck Galaxy to be a more enjoyable experience. There is more complexity with this game; therefore, the learning curve is noticeably higher compared to the first game. I ended up running through the tutorial multiple times prior to starting a new game or campaign on my own; however, the additional time spent doing the tutorial was worth it. Once you learn all the mechanics, this game is actually easier to play in the sense that there are more options to utilize if you roll a bunch of 1s and 2s. In One Deck Dungeon, rolling low values basically limited the player and usually led to an early death; however, in One Deck Galaxy, there are additional mechanics that allow you to use those low value dice in other ways such as launching a probe or studying a location to increase the science value of the starbase. The only real negative, in my opinion, is the low number of options when choosing your character/occupation an...
