Sadly, I cannot recommend this game. As a long-time fan of the series, I have played every Mortal Kombat game that has been released on PC. I have over 1,000 hours in MK11, and I bought this one right after its release. Bringing back characters that weren't in the previous installment of the game like Ermac, Ashrah, Li Mei or Havik was a great idea, the graphics are really decent and the gameplay would be fine too, however, a few key changes make the game drastically lose its value. Firstly, the Kameo characters – I understand the idea behind this, but it completely doesn't fit the Mortal Kombat playstyle. I often found myself completely ignoring the existence of these characterss, both solo and ranked, despite the advantages they offer. From what I understand, the game was originally intended to be Injustice 3, which didn't happen for reasons unknown to me. While this idea could have worked in Injustice, here it's a completely unnecessary addition that poorly justifies the lack of...

over the course of the last 3 installments this franchise has become convoluted garbage, i dont want to desperately keep up with rotating towers hoping somethign i want pops up when i am able to play, i dont want these "kameo" bots, bring back 9 no multiple fighting styles bullshit no timed towers, no bs kameo fighters give us those kameos as actual fighters like we want, aand bring back tag matches, until then i will not touch or recommend this mess of a franchise i literally grew up on
I definitely could've skipped this. I got this at a great discount and im still wondering if it was worth it. This story wasn't great, and the DLC story is a joke. you play as like 4 characters and its over. I'm really not a fan of Sektor and Cyrax. They definitely overstayed their welcome. I am calling it a sin that megan fox is "acting" in this game. her character fell soo flat. even if you never heard megan fox's voice or seen her you will see her character stick out like a sore thumb. she definitely phoned this in. The story falls into the same pitfalls as marvel currently is. now that their is (spoilers) a multiverse no one and nothing matters... and this game retcons the previous a bit lui kang didn't really win... apparently everyone but kronica did and they all have their own timeline. they need to clean this up and go back to some klassic MK. I've played all the previous games and even got MK10 at launch... after that i decided to wait for the Definitive versions and get it th...
Mortal Kombat 1 is a bold reboot of the iconic fighting franchise — delivering brutal combat, stunning visuals, and a fresh timeline twist that breathes new life into the MK universe. The story mode is cinematic and engaging, with high production value and a creative reimagining of classic characters. Gameplay is smooth and responsive, and the addition of the Kameo system adds new layers of strategy to fights without overwhelming newcomers. Visually, the game is absolutely gorgeous. From the detailed character models to the insanely over-the-top Fatalities, everything feels polished and intense. Online performance has improved since launch, though some matchmaking and netcode issues can still pop up occasionally. The only major downside? The monetization. Premium skins and grind-heavy unlocks can make the experience feel a bit commercialized, especially for a full-priced title.
Ive been playing this game since the first beta on ps5 , it’s a great game in terms of gameplay, but so many features are missing, no online rooms , no training mode while matchmaking, training mode is not as advanced as other modern fighting games , also the game almost has no single player content and customization, invasions sucks and khaos reigns campaign is the most forgettable story Ive ever witnessed, overall, i gave it a positive review because the gameplay almost makes up for all of that , especially the dlc characters, definitely try it on sale
The game is good, looks nice, but... Why do we need those "cameo" sh_ty mechanic, and superhero garbage in characters? Make serious fighting game, with interesting figthters and dark atmosphere. Stop making things just to sell it. P.S And what the hell, why I can`t play for Sonya Blade in MK?
A well-made Mortal Kombat game! Apart from minor annoyances from the DLC and DLC's characters, it's amazing. Game looks beautiful, the main story is good. DLC story is meh. Gameplay is proper MK. Game's very enjoyable with friends locally/online/stream remote. Playing online is... sometimes frustrating because a lot of people learn one combo and spam it in-game and unless you know the counter you're kinda screwed. I also recommend learning one fighter character fully if you want to give online a shot, because that will increase your chances of winning dramatically, even against sweats and one-combo spammers, regardless of you knowing the match-up in full, or just your own fighter. It's better to play kasual mode instead of ranked, ranked has way more one-combo sweats. I recommend this to any MK fan or anyone who wants to get into fighting games.
I like the game BUT compiling or loading shaders on every start it takes 15 to 20 minutes before I see the main menu screen and that's annoying. I play it on Nobara 42. I had similar experience in Windows 11.
im not a diehard mortal kombat fan however this is a very good games and even though there are a bunch of negative comments on the campain i thought it was really good and was fairly easy to understand for someone who knew almost nothing about the lore. I also really enjoy the kameo system as it makes chaining combos much easier to learn and its pretty uniqe. overall 9/10 fighting game
Its mortal kombat, but its a good game hard to learn as a newer player but still fun
