OCTOPATH TRAVELER II Prologue Demo

A free demo is now available! You can choose any of the eight protagonists, play for three hours, and carry over your saved game data to the full game. Travel beyond starting areas is restricted, but you can explore those corners of Solistia to your heart's content.
About the Game

The story takes place in Solistia, a land comprising an eastern and western continent divided by the sea.
It is a bustling era, wherein large vessels navigate busy sea routes and the power of steam gives birth to new technologies.
Some people thrill to glamorous stars of the stage and industry, while others are brought to tears by war, plague, and poverty.
In this faraway realm, eight travelers hailing from different regions venture forth for their own reasons. Step into their shoes and explore the land as you see fit, using their unique talents to aid you along your journey.
Embark on an adventure all your own.

- Begin your adventure as one of eight new travelers, each with their own origins, motivations, and unique skills.
- The series’ HD-2D graphics, a fusion of retro pixel art and 3DCG, have reached even greater heights.
- The story takes place in Solistia, where diverse cultures thrive from east to west and the industries of the new era flourish. You can sail the seas and explore every corner of a world that changes from day to night.
- Each traveler has a unique set of Path Actions they can use to battle townspeople, obtain items, take others along in their travels, and more. Where will you go? What will you do? Every path is yours to take.
- Familiar mechanics from the original game have been preserved, like the freedom to develop your travelers’ jobs and skills, as well as the Break and Boost system that made battles so exhilarating. New mechanics have also been added.

- Toggle between day and night with the push of a button to transform towns and the people within them. Path Actions will also vary by the time of day, enabling you to further explore the world.
- A new type of tale starring two travelers who now walk the same path.
- Each traveler possesses a unique latent power, which can be used to turn the tide of battle.
- Board canoes to cross rivers or sail the sea on a large vessel to voyage to every corner of the realm.
OCTOPATH TRAVELER II: One of the Greatest Games that I Don't Like
OCTOPATH TRAVELER II (OT2) is by most accounts an outstanding representation of a JRPG. It has a distinctive, beautiful look. It has multiple classes and enemies. It has a detailed story that spans all 8 characters. It has a lot of exploration and some lovely maps. There's a lot of game here and you could spend weeks in it getting lost and enchanted by its various systems. And it's everything I've grown to loathe about JRPGs in general. I've played for 12 hours and I really don't see myself playing any more. Let's talk about what it does right and it does a lot really well. (1) I don't think you can talk about OT2 without first describing how gorgeous this game is. Using a shift-tilted, pixel-art design, OT2 has a very distinctive but undeniably amazing look. The use of light, colors, shadows and the like go into just one of the most amazingly beautiful games I've ever played. This is a game 20 years from n...
One of the best JRPGs of all time. This game has the best soundtrack, period. Just the soundtrack alone makes this a 10/10 game. It also has interesting characters, engaging stories and a good job system. Kept me engaged way longer than any of the newer Final Fantasy games.
Octopath Traveler for people who hated Octopath Traveler 1. Fixes almost all of the issues I had with the first one, not perfect by any means, but a massive improvement over the first which was already a fantastic game in it's own right.
I need a spinoff with just Temenos and Crick so bad y’all don’t understanddd
story is slow and a little corny, but a good change of pace. combat is sick and will be the reason I sink 60+ hours into this
✅ Octopath Traveler II - My Review (Finished the Game!) Just wrapped up Octopath Traveler II and honestly… it’s awesome!!! Overall, I wouldd say it’s even better than the first series. 🎮 Gameplay - The new day/night system adds a nice twist. - Each character’s path actions are fun to mess around with (Temenos investigating, Osvald mugging, provoking NPCs, etc). - Exploration feels richer compared to OT1. 📖 Story - Every character’s story was engaging, but Throné’s story stood out the most for me. - The extra story you unlock after finishing all 8 characters? Shocking and absolutely worth it (no spoilers). ⚔️ Bosses - Main story bosses? Honestly… they were easy LOL - Extra story bosses + optional quest bosses? Super challenging, and exactly the kind of postgame fights I wanted. ⭐ Favorite Moment The prologue of the extra story, where all 8 travelers gather around a campfire, talking about their future.. it felt wholesome and rewarding. L...
The game plays fine, looks ok, and can be surprisingly funny at times. The narrative and themes really didn't do it for me. It felt a lot like "money is evil" and kind of tried to deal with some heavy-ish topics but through what felt to me like a rather simplistic and naive worldview.
So they decided to take what made the first OctoPath game so great and amp it up with entirely new character story-lines and gadgetry. Some of the job classes and systems have changed although there are a few familiar things from the last game they expanded by a lot. If you've tried the mobile version there's a few recognizable bits of that here. So that means far more to enjoy--so get started already!
This game is an absolute masterpiece. If you are into turn-based RPGs, pick this up! The combat and visuals are great. But even more so, the soundtrack is incredible! One of the best RPGs of the 2020’s thus far
