Tote is such a bad and buggy character I hate her so much. For a deckbuilding gimick she has so little to go for her it's insane. -Can't freely delete carvings -only draws 5 and draw items are not very reliable for reasons -plenty of things just don't work with here (e.g. carvings spawned by lootbox relic just cannot be used at all) -Her normal item store is FILLED with carvings for some reason -other bugs like carvings disappearing from UI or items overlapping with carvings making it so you can't take them in certain situations. I'm surprised this game is considered to be in a completed state I don't really care that kickstarter goals were unfulfilled (although it's fucked up that they aren't) But what I do care about is how the game DOES NOT FUNCTION. And even if it did function, the whole city building part of the game feels pretty meaningless and is lacking alot of depth. So why have it in the first place?
Abandonware
Buggy mess
This game is quite good, and a very fun time for those of us who love to organize their inventory. Really fun gameplay, nice artstyle, decent enough story mode, its all good! Only real issue is that the previously mentioned story mode is uh...exceptionally buggy, and frankly unclear when it comes to progressing. Nowhere in the game does it say you need to complete specific tutorials before allowing you to progress the story, and it locks you down if you say TOOOOOOOTALLY just an example, ignore the robot who you dont care about in the slightest and just keep trying runs with the main character in an attempt to actually progress the story for like 10 hours until you decide to look up why the hell the story isnt progressing. Now, thats an issue with story clarity, which would have been solved if I was the slightest bit curious about CR-8, but whats not acceptable is that the story mode is rather buggy. I've encountered resources just kinda going missing, an NPC just flat NEVER showing up...
I enjoyed the general premise of the combat - managing inventory for optimal damage - but I eventually stopped for a couple of reasons. For one, progression is so slow. I played for almost 14 hours, only unlocked one additional character, and the two that I had didn't seem to have much variety in their own builds, so I felt like I was doing the same thing every run. On top of that, the town management system wasn't doing it for me. Getting back from a run and just not being able to do anything meaningful because I didn't accumulate enough resources didn't help with the "doing the same thing every run" feeling. It's a really neat concept, but unfortunately based on other reviews it seems like the game has been abandoned, Can't really recommend it at that point.
This game was made on Kickstarter, realized MANY of its stretch-goals, and did not fulfill them. The developer just took off with the money and did not keep his/her promises. The game is missing characters and other goodies that were promised with proper funding. Monies given, promises not delivered. And for that it recieves my thumbs down. =-=-=-=-= A very addictive town-building sim slash rogue-like with a fun gimmick. Your inventory is VERY limited and how it is arranged affects your stats. Some armor is better sitting next to other armor bits. Helms are better in the top row. Some items don't work at all if they're not placed properly. Some weapons do more damage when placed properly or near agreeing items. Its super, super addictive and I had a blast playing it. The game is very unclear on how to progress, though. When you die you get to bring one thing back with you and you can use it in upgrade recipes, sell it for scrap to the build the town, etc. If you take a quest (which ...
The gimmick is backpack organisation and it's pretty fun. You can make some really satisfying builds that instantly wipe an encounter. There's 5 total characters each putting a unique spin on the game offering new play-styles and builds. I quite liked being able to play music and clear the dungeon without killing anyone- I also liked playing CR8 and shooting up the place. Meta progression is done though recipes, combining items you bring back from runs (or 1 item when you die) and just adds new items to the drop pool, I was able to beat the game without really exploring these but had fun looking into them post game. There's also some town (re)building mechanics which is was fun.
its good play it.
Pretty frustrating experience. Game is very pleasant and chill enough but there's just enough programming/UI jank to make me drop this game asap. Having the highlighted option in menus be dark instead of lit up (literally not highlighted) is annoying Hazards going away at the end of fights, but having Tote kill me with her hazards after I just defeated her which subsequently bugs the game out is annoying. Having items fly out of my bag when anything is slightly wrong is annoying. Having a pouch in my bag and not being able to put an item I want into it because the pouches interface itself is blocking it is annoying. Having items pulse when you're hovering over it but then having no indication that youre currently holding the item is annoying. Currently holding an item then switching to the map completely tossing the item out of your bag instead of just putting it back in your bag is annoying. There's so much more than this I could write but that's this game. Fun and charming little ...
