There’s nothing timid about Sunday Gold. From the first panel it declares itself a cocktail of styles that shouldn’t work together, yet somehow do. Developed by BKOM Studios, it welds classic point and click adventuring to turn based tactical combat, then drenches the whole concoction in a cyberpunk noir aesthetic that feels both stylish and abrasive. Set in a near future London suffocating under corporate corruption, the story follows three anti-heroes (Frank, Sally and Gavin) as they scheme, bicker and claw their way through heists and conspiracies. The writing is acidic and laced with dark humor, painting a world where cynicism and survival instinct are the only currencies that matter. The visual presentation is arguably its boldest stroke. Comic-book paneling, exaggerated outlines and freeze-frame bursts give every scene a sense of motion, even in moments of stillness. Wonderful game! The story is super fun and engaging. I love the turn based fight mechanics and the action point system. The skills for each of the characters is distinct and allows for a good amount of flexibilty to prioritize the skills that you want for that character. The art is stunning and the voice acting is good! Highly recommend this game for people whole enjoy mysteries, ttrpg-esque games, and just generally if you were curious about this game, try it out!

Yes, a good game. Stunning art style and visuals. Good writing, decent but not flashy rpg combat that works but is a bit limited in truth. Only gripe is that the end boss is just ridiculous, the challenge of bosses felt about right and then the last hurdle feels like I need to rebuild my teams skills or build as I can't seem to lay a finger on him in his second phase, your getting attached 6 attacks to 3 (2:1) and can't output enough damage, I maxed out tech on my tech character but can't stun or debuff the boss? to even the odds. Shame as I don't think it needed to be that way as the game is nicely story focused. Oh and there are 1 or 2 puzzles that you go in clueless and have to just click and hope. Enjoyable game, definitely recommend it for its price tag. I thoroughly enjoyed the world building, all the searching for clues and interacting with the world. Some puzzles were smart and enjoyed solving most of them. Game finale was memorable but I feel it could be better, give the player more to think about and feel. Story sets you up for an aftermath but never follows through it is cut short. You never see the heroes celebrate afterwards or learn anything about characters referenced. Would appreciate more agency, as the whole story was scripted and I had no real control on its outcome. Characters are colorful and the world is vibrant. Would like to revisit and explore untold stories of it in a future installation with different characters or spin offs in another moment in the history of the world.
