I think the best way I can describe this game is "If Dwarf Fortress and Yu-Gi-Oh had a kid, and it grew up to be an auto-battler", and by that I mean there is like... over 500+ different cards, effects, and units you can spawn, and almost all of them have some sort of extremely complex or convoluted use. They all interact with each other in different ways, and sometimes you'll lose because you gained too much mana too fast and imploded on itself, or you'll just randomly win because a card effect you had just summoned so many bees the enemy got overwhelmed and died. As of writing I just got this today, I binged it for about 3 hours, needed to lay down and rest because it gave me such a headache I physically could not play it anymore, then binged it for 2 more hours. I'm assuming it's going to take about 100 more before I start getting a basic grasp of what all the effects in this game do, and at that point I think I can justify spending 12 dollars on it. My head hurts...

About This Game
In Cube Chaos you place cubes each of which has its own abilities and behaviours.
In practice it plays like a unique rogue-lite mix of rts, autobattler and towerdefense.
Call forth a rat above every non rat ally,
use catapults to catapult those rats past the enemy defenses,
meanwhile defend yourself with self repairing shield walls and
summon lightning clouds which teleport above enemies and zap them.
Just to sample a strategy.
Open Ended Design:
Sure Triple Shot makes your guns shoot 3 bullets sometimes, but it also makes your anthills make more ants, your replicating crabs might triplicate, your dead enemies might turn into 3 zombies.
The perks in this game are meant to allow for strange and unusual strategies outside of what I the developer directly intended.
Risk Reward:
Want to buy something in the shop but didn't collect enough gold? Just go into debt!
Want to stack a perk 8 times in exchange for some of the most horrible curses my mind could cook up? Cursed trades got you covered!
Cube Chaos encourages you to take calculated risks and reap the rewards of living on the edge of defeat, rewarding you with both memorably victories, teaching defeats and if you are very lucky something so completely broken I'll have to consider adjusting it in the next balance patch.
Ludicrous Variety:
10+ Classes and 10+ Species, with each combination having a unique bonus perk.
550+ handmade Units used by both you and your AI opponents.
550+ upgradable Perks to enhance and enable new builds.
100+ Curses to haunt your days.
60+ Consumables to save you from certain defeat.
Modding with Steam Workshop support!

ugliest game ever but so good
HAHA funny cube game.
chaos of the cubes, truly madness to completely understand anything
A sandbox tower offense/defense where you try to defend your side while destroying the other. You place blocks a.k.a. cubes on your side of the map, each with their own characteristics. Besides those, there also perks which can be additional passives/powers/changes. The interaction between all the different abilities of the cubes and perks is where the fun and challenge comes from as even the enemy can end up with deadly unexpected combinations from the RNG of hundreds of cubes in the game.
I absolutely adore this game! <3 The concept is refreshingly unique and opens up a ton of interesting strategic synergies. Every playthrough feels different, and I love experimenting with new combinations and tactics. Highly recommended!
kind of like crack but better
I nominate Cube Chaos for Ugliest Game of 2025 (affectionately, of course). The theorycrafting is probably the best I've ever experienced in a game. It's refreshing, rewarding, and horrifically punishing depending on the weather. It's a singleplayer grid-based RTS experience that relies on adversarial mutators and stat boosts to provide the challenge, but the AI is decent, given the ABSURD number of units and abilities it has to work with. The overarching theme here is chaos, where you are expected to adapt to emergent issues during your run, as well as unpredictable enemy deck composition. I really can't recommend it enough if you like strategy games, or theorycrafting. Also, the programmer class is criminally fun. Please give this fella your money, because we need more novel experiences in gaming like this.
Wonderful game. Lots to explore and very interesting combinations to be made. If you like rogue-likes this is a must play.
Such a fun game 10/10
