One of the shorter Touhou fangames. It's dirt cheap, frequently on deep sale, and yet still easily worth the full price. There is a free demo to try out to see if you will like the gameplay or not. It's actually more of a prologue with some small plot that connects to the main plot of this game. The gameplay is decently difficult, so be prepared to die a lot and spend at least a couple of hours or ten if you want to go for the true ending. Short game but very polished, the art is nice, the music feels good to listen to (it better be since you will be listening to the soundtrack over your thousand deaths) and the skill ceiling is quite high if you are determined to go for the more difficult challenges. Build diversity is an actual thing, or you can get so good at the fights your equipment wouldn't mean much. And yes, you do get to beat up Clownpiece until you rip her clothes apart and see her half covered ass, which might be a plus or minus point for you. A later update added the rogue ...
Bullet hell game as expected from the Touhou franchise but this time with more reliance on i-frames. You also get several items and abilities you can equip and use in your fights. Fights are fair imo. I am not a bullet hell player and I found them to be challenging but not overly obnoxious with like 1-2 exceptions. Artstyle is very pretty, very clean and cutesy. Story and dialogue are quite bad unfortunately, not that it matters that much tho.
Little Ice Dingus beats up magic girls so she can then proceed to get destroyed repeatedly by other magic girls.
To be clear, I know nothing of Touhou, I just heard this was a Cuphead knockoff that's actually pretty good. At least, as far as gameplay. (This game uses a very generic, average art style instead of the beautiful. authentic 30s animation seen in Cuphead.) It's about what I expected: Not as good as Cuphead even in gameplay, but still a solid B tier experience for this game's short length, with a similar powerup system to Cuphead as well to keep things interesting. Apparently, Touhou is a reimagining of Japanese mythological creatures called Youkai as anime girls. Youkai also take on characteristics humans assign them, so given the popularity of Touhou, is this world literally real according to Japanese mythology? Bottom line, since Japanese people believe in their religious traditions much more than popular belief has it, it means the majority of Japanese people believe Touhou is real. At least, if they're being logically consistent. I praise this game even more for bringing t...
I can understand the positive reviews. Really fun game. It's bassically a load of bullet hell boss fights. A bit like a run and gun without the level, just the bosses. It's a nice challenge without being stupidly hard. Well made game with a decent soundtrack. It's not even rage inducing when you get spanked because there is a slight learning curve each time and as you get used to the sequence of attacks you get closer each time. It's a fair price for the game and the main thing is that when I'm playing, it's really fun. What is completely mind boggling is that The Knight Witch gets pretty poor reviews, when the reality is it is very much like this game but better and much more fleshed out with more professional production. If you like Hero of Ice Fairy you should absolutely get The Knight Witch.
Dodge + Flight with massive iFrames that take from a stamina bar is probably the least interesting way that defensive maneuvers could've been approached in a Touhou (fan)game, but I still had a blast with this. Character redesigns are mad cute, story is a short, yet fun ride, and the number of challenges and customization options give you a lot to do while making you sweat a lil'. Also this soundtrack gets kinda insane when the tracks with vocals pop in. There's a trap beat for some reason which feels illegal to put in a Touhou game, but that also makes it really funny so I kinda dig it.
is good gam
This game is pretty solid but im sorta bunyuns but i still enjoy myself
I wish there was a third option between "yes" and "no" for recommend, as this is a very tepid endorsement. I want to love this, and it's SO CLOSE to being amazing, but the devs made a very fundamental mistake with the core design that unfortunately drags the game down. Feels like the devs are fans of the franchise, but not the mainline games, as their design shows a lack of understanding of the core fundamentals of danmaku game design. That mistake is the iframe dash. See, one of the most important aspects of danmaku is dodging the bullets. You have a tiny hitbox and the game is all about dodging and weaving through the patterns. To facilitate this, the patterns need to be creative and dense, but always be traversable. In essence, the bullet design is the level design. Bullet design is the level design. That's important. Trouble here is that with a iframe dash. You just skip all that. The bullets end up being just walls, and you just dash through the walls. Instead of being tons of...
