Thank you for remastering these games! Soon only Breath of Fire and Lufia are left. :) Suikoden 1, while a solid game, definitely shows its age. Suikoden 2, however, is a masterpiece that can hold its own to this day.

I had heard great things about the original and was not disappointed. The mechanics may seem simple, but the story is a big seller. Overall already very engaging in the first game, the second one takes it to the next level, bringing in more character development/background lore, the importance of dialogue choices towards the endgame and nice little "side quests". Collecting all characters may seem like a tedious idea at first but you quickly get hooked, it's the biggest attraction for me. It genuinely gives you a sense of completion as your base progressively becomes more alive, and it comes with some pretty big rewards both in and outside of battle. Also forces you to explore the full range of what both games have to offer instead to strictly sticking to the main storyline. Maybe more of a minor thing but also the music is great and adds to the atmosphere. 100% would recommend for a cozy, relaxed and compelling RPG experience.

Just as great as the original, but with a speed up option and single button for auto-battle! My favorite RPG series.

Never played the originals growing up so I went into these blind, but I can definitely see now why these are such well regarded JRPGs. Loved the story telling, combat, huge cast of characters, and music.

Incredible storytelling, among the best of the 90s. The magic is still there—I still tear up at the appropriate places in both. Despite a few bugs that carryover from the original NA release, this is one of the best remasters I've played.

First things first, I got to give credit to Konami, because these remasters were really well done, keeping the same essence of the originals but with a fresh coat of paint and a few modern tweaks, nothing major though. I had never played the first game of this series back in the day, so initially I was surprised at how similar it felt to Suikoden II (at least in my memory). But after playing the second game, I can say they are actually quite far apart. Suikoden I is a simple game. Short, with little setup or character growth, and it shows its age (even remastered). Rarely does anything you do have deeper meaning, and the world is not complex or filled with things to interact with or explore. It is what it is: a decent classic JRPG. Suikoden II was always near and dear to my heart, easily one of the best games of all time for me, so I had high expectations and was also very afraid it wouldn’t hold up to my nostalgia. Thankfully, I was wrong. This is still one of the best JRPGs ever m...

The first time I heard about it, I got excited to see the gameplay and find out what had changed from the old version. And now, I finally bought it and my love for gaming came back, even though I’ve been busy with my work as a nurse. This game is the only one that truly relaxes me and takes away my stress. It’s such a beautiful masterpiece. I play it every day off, and I still remember exactly how to recruit all 108 Stars of Destiny. On top of that, the achievements and trophies make it even more rewarding. This game really motivates me to keep playing.
