[Review after completing 100% of current content] This is a game marred by a clear disconnect between what narrative the audience expects, and what the creators want to tell. The original horror executed its concept well with its meta elements that weren't present in this new experience turned "deep narrative" about the gentrification of a small community. Remembering its roots, I could count the amount of horror moments in Simulacra 3 with a single-fingered hand. Rook-your character-crumpling like paper could certainly be seen as horror, with his flimsy attempts to push consequences on those around him. The puzzles felt immature and insulting at best, while tedious and hintless at worst. These ranging from reading two posts on their limited feed to tracing paths that were directly communicated; a confusing case with reviews mentioning the need to "pay close attention." Surprises in narrative were few and far between, boiling down to the Simulacra coming in like a disappointing WWE w...

About This Game
Evil welcomes you back in the third chapter of the critically acclaimed horror series, Simulacra.
The once charming town of Stonecreek has seen better days. People are vanishing into thin air, leaving nothing behind but strange symbols where they were last seen. With the police baffled and the populace terrified, rumors swirl that it is the doing of the Beldam, the ghost of a witch that once haunted the streets of Stonecreek.
You are the intern at the local paper, tasked with assisting the town’s star journalist, Ruby Myers, on her investigation into the disappearances. Your only lead is the phone of the missing Paul Castillo, a software developer, an amateur historian of the town, and one of Ruby’s sources. While Ruby does the legwork, your job is to hack into Paul’s phone for any clues left behind. New apps, exciting features, and fresh terror await those who delve into the darkest corners of the digital realms as you investigate the Beldam of Stonecreek.

User Reviews
Simulacra 1 and 2 were pretty decent games. The first game was amazing, while the second was still decent, but not as good. My main complaint with the second one is that the actual horror element was severely lacking. With that being said, Simulacra 3 takes a nosedive in terms of horror. This game is actually closer to a detective game than it is a horror game. The puzzles were fun, but I got this game because it was meant to be a horror game. I was mistaken. If you played the first two and were hoping this one was at all like the first Simulacra, then I'm sorry, but It's not even close. With that in mind, I can't say I would recommend this game to either new or even base players.
