About This Game

In this deduction adventure, you play as Lil - an unlikely 12-year-old hero - covering your dad's shift at the guard shed and are tasked with deciding the fate of over 100 unique characters.

You will question humans, elves, goblins, cyclopes, and other fantasy creatures using your powers of deduction to determine who to admit or deny based on how they respond to your questions and your trusty tools. Sending visitors to jail, inadvertently zapping them to smithereens, or letting them go on their merry way are all part of the job. But be careful: who you let through the castle gates will determine the kingdom's fate.

See the Sprawl and its fantastical & quirky citizens through a royal wedding to one of two kingdoms vying for an alliance, and a subsequent siege by whoever you've angered in the process. Your decisions can determine the fate of the city and its people!

Interrogate 100+ fully voiced characters in just the right way to earn a perfect score.

Spend your hard earned gold wisely on powering up your guardsman toolkit, and strategically deploy these to admit or deny the right people or...goblins?

Use your trusty Chronometer3000 to go back and get a higher score... but be careful not to break space and time in the process.

I'm conflicted. As a movie, I LOVED it. The art and humor are cozy and on point. But as a game, it's too often tedious. There's very little deduction involved, mostly guesswork and luck. Will using the metal detector or X-ray work better to find out if a person is smuggling? Or will using the whip? Or will talking to them? And then should you deny them entry? Or send them to jail? Or call the councilwoman? Or call someone else? There's too many options and not enough clues to point you in any clear direction, so good luck. Trying to get the 'best outcome' is tedious and often involves replaying levels over and over again. I had the most fun when I stopped playing it as a game and just followed a walkthrough to the letter and enjoyed the movie. And as a movie.... it was a lot of fun.

Very funny and cute game, I wish we had more choice with the story and characters but the game does provide many options. I just wish that every choice you made affected the story.

This was a pretty fun game. There were times where the gameplay could be a little boring and somewhat tedious. But overall the gameplay was fun and I really liked the drawing and art style. Really enjoyed that the gameplay was voice acted as well which was good in case you didn’t want to sit and constantly read. I probably wouldn’t play it through multiple times but it was a good game to play.

7/10 - I enjoyed my play through. I wish there was more replay value because that would be REALLY easy to do with this type of game. Great voice acting, super funny. I'd like if some of the deduction game mechanics were a bit harder, but overall I'd recommend the game if you are on the fence (which I was). I'm happy I got it!

Lil' Guardsman is a charming and witty narrative deduction game that puts a lighthearted, fantasy spin on the "border patrol" genre. As a twelve-year-old girl named Lil, you must decide who gets into the kingdom, using magical tools and a time-rewinding device to solve puzzles and uncover hidden intentions. The game truly stands out for its witty writing, superb voice acting, and beautiful cartoon-inspired art style, creating a hilarious and heartfelt experience with high replayability. It’s a delightful adventure that proves serious responsibilities can come with the biggest laughs.

Cute but about 4 Levels too long. The gameplay isn't motivating enough to keep you playing. Such a game should be finishable in like 4-5 hrs cause there's honestly not even enough interesting stuff in the story for it to take so long. still cute
