Phantom Spark

Trackmania meets AG racing. A deceptively simple racing game with easy to learn controls but hard to master mechanics, Phantom Spark scratches that itch of striving for perfection with its tight controls, immersive sounds, motivating drum n bass music, and otherworldly but oddly familiar retrofuturistic aesthetics. While mistakes are punishing, mechanics are nuanced, platinum medals and trials are tough, and the campaign is long, the sightseeing is rewarding and the guardians are challenging enough to keep going over and over again until a new goal is reached. While there's no online multiplayer, there's local splitscreen and you can race against other ghosts on the online leaderboard. A one of a kind, addictive and satisfying experience that I can't recommend enough and would love to see more content from.

Super focused, very neat, very well polished arcade racing. Immediate restarts and racing against ghosts will constantly push you to improve your times and test the limits. Very good.

It's the closest thing to Trackmania Turbo. It's awesome.

I'm loving this game. I've always been a huge fan of arcade racers like Wipeout, Extreme-G, BallisticNG, TrackMania, etc, and never felt like weapons and collision with other racers were necessary to my enjoyment of the first three. I just liked the cornering, the lines, the speed. Phantom Spark has the same feel as those games I've mentioned, distilled down to their most fundamental essence. The game looks beautiful, first of all. It's pleasant to watch the scenery go by at speed, and the tracks are really well communicated, so I never feel like I was cheated by questionable level design. Speaking of the tracks, they're meticulously designed, not only in terms of how they're communicated, but also how they're paced. Arguably some of the most satisfying courses that I can recall playing, honestly. If I could give it a "mixed" review I would. On one hand the game has tight responsive controls and a bangin OST. On the other hand I feel like it's missing things that other racing games have such as other racers and boost/drifting. It's a very simple game, someone described it as highly meditative- that's what I'd describe it as too. I will say yes but my actual opinion on this is "mixed".

Super chill AG racing, with beautiful visuals, and a nice soundtrack. It runs at a rock solid 60fps on the Deck, completely plug and play. No controls or graphics config at all.
