About This Game

Crisis in the Kremlin: The Cold War is a global real-time political strategy game where you take command of the USSR in its final decade. Shape the fate of your nation as you manage critical elements like the economy, foreign relations, and domestic policy. Engage with countries across the globe, using diplomacy, or wield your influence through proxy wars to expand your reach.

Immerse yourself in both historical and alternate-history events, making pivotal decisions that will guide the USSR down various paths—from reigniting the flame of socialism to embracing Western democracy. With dozens of complex endings, every choice brings you closer to your unique vision for the USSR.

Crisis in the Kremlin offers a richly detailed simulation, where the fate of a superpower rests in your hands. Will you preserve the union or forge a new future?

PERESTROIKA - CONTINUATION OF OCTOBER

Crisis... Crisis has caught up with the Motherland of the Revolution and lurks in its very heart - the Kremlin.
The Soviet Union has stood still for too long, and now many different circumstances, groups and people are pushing it to change. Some see the future in a return to the past, some in cautious reforms, and some want radical change. The Crisis has taken deep roots in Kremlin towers, and the lurking traitors are just waiting for their moment in the spotlight.

Where will the blow of the Cheka officer's punitive sword be directed this time? Where will the knight of the Party in red armour point his finger? And where will the foot of the entire Soviet people step? Greatness? Communism? Reforms? Collapse?

Take command of the Soviet Union in the new, updated Crisis in the Kremlin. Lead the country through the most difficult times. Conduct scientific research, manage finances to bring the USSR out of a prolonged political crisis. Carry out social reforms, introduce free elections or, alternatively, roll back any liberal endeavours: fine-tuning legislation is in your hands. Make friends with the Western world or confront the US and bring about its collapse, follow the unusual path of neo-imperialism or carve your own path: "Crisis in the Kremlin" opens up huge prospects for you.

I saved the Soviet Union from collapse, sent Gorbachev and Yakolev to the wall, liberated Africa from colonialism, gave Palestine to the Palestinians, got the Ayatollah to praise communism, colonized the Moon, carved a giant hammer and sickle on the mountains of Mars, reunited Korea, saved Yugoslavia from civil war, caused the USA to collapse into several unimportant states (one of which became the Socialist Republic of Alaska, as part of the USSR), assassinated Trump, sent a medal to Reagan and Ron Paul for helping the USSR win the Cold War, enacted global nuclear disarmament, dismantled the EU, made a corporate-free internet, saved nature from disasters and then established world communism. 10/10 would do it again

Pretty interesting game. Political system is cool and allows you to juggle interests of many factions. However, the economic system is nonsensical. Completely random nosedives, economic collapse that can happen in a couple of months without your input. The economy is either unrealistically fragile, or randomised in a biased way. also, there's plenty of balancing issues. All of these things are a problem on easy or even casual difficulty. Hope the economy gets un-randomised. When or if that happens will put a positive review.

Only difference to the old part is the Graphics, apart from that its the same game since the 90s, not worth it

This game would be 10x better if the economy didn't randomly nose dive, or if the budget menu was more in depth for values. I would encourage the dev, to make a better system for seeing the values.

This has got to be their worst game yet, I will be real. Clunky "modernized" interface, boring and opaque gameplay, lack of replayability and any real impact from your decisions. Watered down writing. I'd recommend playing the original Crisis in the Kremlin over the sequel, at least, for now. I have an inkling that the game might get better with updates, but I don't have any hopes that it will be just as good as Ostalgie.

I generally like all these games from the same developer. The game is mainly reacting and making decisions to all the news events of the 1980's, a time I remember well. Playing the Soviet Union from the mid-1980's is trully a hopeless effort. Despite supporting all political and economic reforms, I still went bankrupt and the end of the game. The game should encourage the player to make all the necessary reforms and then have to navigate through the shoals of Kremlin politics. The only other game left to play is China. Hope that one is better.

Krisis in the Kremlin: The Cold War is exactly what fans have been looking for: a complete improvement from the already great 2017 iteration. This includes updated graphics (still simple, but a very welcome improvement), totally reworked geopolitics that makes utilizing both soft and hard powers much more responsive and fun, and best of all, tons of new ideological toys to play with, like new factions, important decisions, and situations. Achieve Gorbachev's dream of Perestroika, institute neo-stalinist-monarchism, rehabilitate and start the cult of Trotsky, or snake the reactionary elements into power and guide the USSR into a horrifying new 'third way' - all possible things you can do. Definitely check this game out if you are a fan of history, politics, and/or grand strategy games. It's oblique and dense, but when you get the hang of it, it's a very fun and challenging adventure.

Good game, however the economic part definitely requires at least some improvements on the UI for player to better understand correlation. As many here mentioned your budget can sometimes take rapid downfall from month to month without you understanding why it happened, or if it's even supposed to happen. Was doing well until 1991/2, every month my funding got up 30 points. Constantly researching, investing, keeping army/security services & separatism in check, making trade agreement's. Then next month my funding was suddenly -40 without any event, then I was hit with political influence going to -150 per month (this one I can more or less understand based on events), however with my budget suddenly taking a drip every month, this send me to slow death spiral as I wasn't able to maintain either efficiently. If it's not a bug then the game do a very poor job of helping player understand why you have +30 and next month you have -40 and month after -60. Other then that, it's visible t...

Fun and really well developed game, much better than the 2017 version! But: Crisis in relations with France Rising global tensions have led to a deterioration in diplomatic relations with France. Paris accuses us of pursuing "aggressive neocolonial policies" and is preparing to reduce the staff of our embassy in Paris. France is one of the few powers in Western Europe that can resist the growing influence of USA, so maintaining friendly relations with them is useful and beneficial to us.Crisis in relations with France Rising global tensions have led to a deterioration in diplomatic relations with France.
