You know how nice it is to have a glass of water sometimes? Been drinking aspartame flavored UE5 30fps piss for so long I forgot how refreshing water is.

This game is fantastic! I saw Tomato playing it and thought i'd give it a try and boy do i recommend it. It's like if Twisted Metal and Mad Max and a baby. Also if you play the demo first your progress transfers over to the full game. it's still earlier access but i'm excited to see what it becomes! Best $15 i spent in a while.

A very nice blend of Mad Max and Twisted Metal, it's a lot of fun to roam freely in large open areas and do different missions. I also think that a Gothic Western aesthetic is used in the game, giving it the feel of playing a dark, Mad Max-esque, SCP-themed Blood Meridian. The variety of terrain and quests is not bad, and although the game is worth every penny in its current state, it has the potential to be a hundred times better. A ton of content, boss types, terrain types, and game mechanics could be added to the game, and I hope the developers don't just release a few updates and abandon it. And I must add, it's the most enjoyable "hell yeah" simulator I've ever played.

You're a small car, that shoots other cars and BIG CARS, while snorting the souls of said cars. I mean what more can you ask? This game is amazing and I look forward to what it has to offer in the future.

Very bare bones dog-fighting style vehicle combat sim made by a micro studio of 4 developers. There's no story or plot here-- just vehicular combat for the sake of it. Do a few side quests, fight a "boss" vehicle, and repeat. All the while, combine rewarded gear into incrementally better car parts and weapons. It makes a satisfying main loop, which is what I'm after: turn brain off and make cars explode.

I do enjoy the game, shame theres not much of it. The execution and presentation is great, the music is on point even if it could use a few tracks more BUT: In the current state you basically do the same mission, over and over. I see great potential, but at the moment its Ubisoft levels of "here are 1000 instances of the same activity that will push your powerlevel by 0.5%!"

The main mechanic of this game is during boss fights, waves of adds show up, and if you kill them all, the boss takes a little damage and your car heals a lot. I kind of wish this mechanic didn't exist at all, and they just toned the health and damage of bosses down, because the implementation of it feels like crap. Difficulty is all over the place in this game in a way the difficulty selector is not able to influence at all. Boss fights where the adds actually stand and fight you, are so incredibly easy, they are impossible to lose even on the hardest difficulty, even if you just use the starting car (which honestly feels like the best car in the game?) But some boss fights, the adds don't try to fight you, and just run from you, usually hiding underneath the wheels of the larger bosses where they are invulnerable due to being in the hitbox of the giant wheels, and this makes these bosses ridiculously hard even on the easiest difficulty, to the point where it feels like RNG, because w...

While it pains me to say so, as I see great potential in FUMES, I could not with clear conscience recommend this product thus far, and I am a little surprised by the overwhelmingly positive review consensus so far. Having completed the game in its current state, here's a few thoughts. Firstly, allow me to make it clear that my thoughts are mostly around what FUMES does not have or do at this moment, rather than what has already been built. In other words, there remains great potential, and I am confident that the game as a whole will continue to be refined and expanded. However, in its current form, it is much closer to a tech demo rather than a complete, gaming product. To start with some positives, FUMES looks and feels great. There is a coherent visual art style present all throughout that required not a trivial amount of planning and dedicated craft, and it sets the game apart. A lot of attention has been given to the core mechanics so far - the driving, shooting, ...
