A2 Zygon is a cool, retro-inspired indie shmup that's both fun and charming. The developer as well is quite dedicated to his game; even going so far as to write an official steam guide/walkthrough that goes into amazing detail. Impressive game and passion both - recommended :)

Quick Score: 5/5 Notes: One of the first shmups I have ever fully completed and overall enjoyed it quite a bit. For someone new to the genre the game is quite a challenge. It took me 23 hours to complete all of the difficult challenges in the game and that was with Q2M abuse for the 50k gold achievement. The bosses were fun to learn, and the bonus challenge stages were a lot of fun as well and ended up being quite a bit more than i was expecting. Overall would recommend.
I'm a bullet hell beginner and this game was very fun and challenging for me. Great soundtrack and art. No technical issues. Highly recommended.
It's a retro bullet hell. Imagine space invaders but with 10 times more projectiles. It's hard, but overall it's pretty fun. 8/10
Cool game. Anything positive I could say is already covered by the rest. I just wanted to mention that there's a banger modern soundtrack hidden in the options, by default it's 8-bit instead.
I like this game alot. It's a little rough around the edges but its so charming that its easy to forgive its faults. Visuals and music is great and it even comes with modern and 8 bit versions to play in game. Pattern design and bosses are also very fun to dodge and shoot down and figuring out a boss' patterns down makes the flow of the game very addicting to get better at the game. There are some incredible difficulty spikes, especially in the true route. Some of the end game bosses have many patterns and forms that you have to maintain strict composure to withstand the entire fight. There's also very little risk mitigation and if things get out of hand it tends to grow worse very quickly. One major downside is that there aren't alot of accessible ways for lower skilled players to be able to withstand the true route or extra content. I feel the game is very tough and can quickly become unforgiving and the only real way to move forward is practicing and getting better. Despite so...
one of the indie shmup title i had fun with the start of this year, it's a fun little bullet hell game but some flaws can be presented at times where you don't have the ability to bomb, you have a strike that lets you melee attack enemies and bosses, it can also wipes bullet, the range is short though, be careful with that, and this is the most disposal you have here which is quite limiting, you only have 10 so make sure you make use of it carefully which you need to use to quickly get off the situation from an overwhelming amount of bullets. the added health system that tighten to score (gold) is a generous concept and makes the gameplay more forgiving, you can try improve yourself by getting hit lesser by practicing each boss patterns, they're fun to play around especially during my blind run, some can be a bit intimidating at first but it's not too bad once you got used to it, you get rewarded with lots of gold by saving enough HP. the writing is also entertaining as well, there i...
This is a very fun, well made fantasy style shmup. The soundtrack is just killer and the gameplay is wel done. It's not everywhere you get the chance to face a faberge egg-mecha as a boss!
8-bit style bullet hell shmum.. I mean you already know that. It's fine. Nothing special, but if you love the genre
good bullet hell with some original ideas. Hard mode is quite challenging
