i'd love to reccomend this, it's actually very fun. however, songs in the paid DLC are broken, with audio tracks cutting out, and massive lag explosions. it seems it's been in this state for years, and there is no real sign that this paid content will ever be fixed. there's supposedly a list of all broken songs on their discord, but that's not web searchable.

I picked this up thinking it would be a fun rhythm game… turns out it’s also a full upper body workout. My arms still hate me. 🤘🥁

Gameplay / Concept: Drums Rock actually makes you feel like you’re behind a real kit — even if you have zero rhythm skills (guilty 🙋♀️). I never played Rock Band, but this feels like a very fair and satisfying rhythm game on its own. Miss a note and you know it’s your fault, land a streak and you feel like a rockstar. Fitness Factor: Play long enough and you’ll discover the hidden “VR gym mode.” Your arms will burn, your shoulders will scream, and yet you’ll still queue up the next song. Pain never sounded this good. Content & Community: The Workshop is steadily growing with custom songs, which you can easily download and grind to death. On top of that, the devs drop DLC packs at a good pace, keeping the setlist fresh. Downsides: Some tracks don’t feel...
loved the idea as a drummer myself who enjoyed rhythm games however; (this review may seem harsh but i want the game to get better because id love to enjoy it, and if some of my criticisms get fixed i may consider buying this product again and leaving a positive review) + art style and environments are fun + built in music selection is great + Community workshop!!!! - i found the latency settings lacking making it hard to enjoy the game with the wireless pcvr setup i have, - hearing 2 sets of drums is a tad awkward - hit detection feels bad - Gameplay is clunky, grabbing the sticks and holding was uncomfortable (maybe this is due to my irl drum experience) - drum placement is awkward -notes and lanes are hard to read -menu feels outdated
This is really unfortunately going to be a do not recommend until the developer makes some adjustments. I started the game and had a blast on the first song - until it randomly decided that my hand was somewhere else entirely. I rebooted the game, but then started having issues with my drumsticks deciding that they didn't want to be in my hands anymore either. I turned on different settings to make them stay or respawn quickly, but it kept happening and it really takes you out of the game when you are in the middle of smashing out some great tunes and then the music stops because your drumstick has just gone missing. Also, is it just me or are things just kind of... ever so slightly off beat? There is something really good here, it just needs some tweaks.
