About This Game

The Tribe Game is a story-driven roleplaying game where the player creates their own custom character and steps into a unique, atmospheric post-apocalyptic world where hope prevails, inspired by the classic cult-hit TV series, 'The Tribe'. Taking centre stage in the story, the player interacts with a large range of characters and 'tribes', each of whom is seeking to build a new world, and will help shape their lives and destinies. There are many diverse places to explore, quests to be accomplished, professions to level up, items and resources to be found, battles to be won, friendships to be made and adversaries to be challenged... as the player experiences all of the humour and unpredictable drama in the world of The Tribe - and tries to keep their own (and their tribe's) dreams alive.

Key Features

Interact with a large cast of Characters and Tribes!

Fate will make your character cross paths with many other survivors who are struggling to create a new world, including some familiar faces to those who have watched The Tribe TV series. For those new to The Tribe, your character will quickly discover who are the other protagonists of this world. Some will be friendly, some will be hostile, some in need, while others threaten the future of the already fragile world.

Explore a Post-Apocalyptic World (and be instrumental in creating a better future)

Travel through lots of contrasting, atmospheric locations... From the ghostly deserted Sectors of the city, to the suburbs... beyond the city to the woods and forests, to the beaches and coast... You will also need to go inside abandoned (or inhabited?) shops and buildings, including a large shopping mall...

Choose Your Own Look, Create Your Custom Character

Put yourself in the picture and make your character look like you, or somebody completely different from your imagination, using the customisable character creator. Choose from a range of combinations to select your own appearance, including hair styles, make up and markings, as well as costumes. It is also possible to completely change your look at regular points during the game as the story unfolds.

Profession Skills to Level and Items to be made or found

Level up your profession skills. Grow produce with your Farming skill. Find ingredients for recipes to create food and drink items with your Cooking skill. Use Tinkering to make items or weapons, as well as things you may need to trade over to others, or in order to complete a quest. Go Fishing. With your Tailoring skill, craft new clothing or 'armour' to enhance your character's stats. Forage and Scavenge locations for items or resources you and your tribe might require. And always be on the look out for unexpected danger or encounters.

Quests to Complete

Sometimes you will be given Quests by others. Have you got what it takes to achieve them? Keep track of your progress using your Quest Journal.

Special Features Included with The Tribe Game

The Tribe Game comes with some video content accessed from within the game, including::
  • An exclusive message from Game Director Raymond Thompson (Creator of The Tribe and Executive Producer of The Tribe TV Series, as well as the writer of The Tribe Game!).
  • A Character Art Evolution video showing the evolution of character designs from sketches to the finished article.
  • A Promotional Video from The Tribe TV Series (and official books).

Atmospheric and Full Soundtrack featuring original (and orchestral) music

The Tribe Game includes an ambient audible experience, with locations featuring some of the sound effects from The Tribe TV Series. The game soundtrack also includes musical themes adapted for the game from the television series, some of it a full orchestral score performed by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

Opening Cinematic

Before creating your character, a cinematic cut scene movie can be played, featuring animation and narration from actress Beth Allen (who played the iconic character Amber in The Tribe television series).

Huge fan of the tv series, But unfortunately the game just lacks on every level. The artwork is great though and captures all the character perfectly and capture the cuteness of older graphic story games. But gameplay is none existent, barely any free roam, no exploration, the skills that you can level ingame have no impact on gameplay at all and can max out within minutes, the choices given in game also have no impact what so ever on the direction. The turn base fights are probably the best thing. except i noticed the stats bars, we had HP and SP, i would of like the item descriptions to match instead of MP. Its more of a very short interactive graphic story, completed in 8 hours. Would of loved something similar to stardew valley but with our much loved the tribes theme. Unfortunately the price isnt worth for just little gameplay.

Im really enjoying the game so far even tho the controls are a bit meh and the combat system isnt the greatest either. But its super fun to meet all the characters from the show and explore the world you already know so well from the series. Also the art is just gorgeous and very well done. I also love the music. ~ Done with the game after about 9hrs of playing. Had lots of fun and would still recommend it, perhaps in a sale. I wish it was more Open World, would have loved to explore even more instead of being pushed through the story. Hoping for DLCs to meet more Tribes and continue the story. - KTDA

No Power, No Chaos. I firstly want to say I love The Tribe and the show has been a big part of my childhood. So when the talks about a game and sneak peeks of the art started popping up, I could not be unexcited about it. But now here I am. Few minutes less 14 hours start to finish, in two sittings, and even that was pretty generous amount of stalling. Positives - the art is beautiful and captures the characters true and with love, the dialogue and interactions loyal to the show and humour in it. Negatives - Firstly, the controls are horrible. I had to exit once or twice completely right at the start, because I couldn't progress or see what I was doing with the game. If you have any accessibility issues you will struggle from the get go. The first thing I usually do when starting a new game, is go over audio options etc. But without info on the clunky controls at first, I couldn't change anything. Which should not be a thing in 2022. Eventually after changing some audio settings,...

Positive: I am a fan of the TV series and was interested in this game. The game is very faithful to the TV series and a lot of effort has gone into the art work and gameplay. Negative: I didn't expect a AAA title, but this game just doesn't hit the mark at all. There are too many bugs, the menus are hard to navigate and simple actions you expect to work on a game don't, like pressing esc to quit. Whoever made this probably hasn't made many games previously. I wasn't expecting much but it isn't even good enough for a bit of casual gaming and is quite frustrating. I only played this for a few minutes before asking for a refund. If you really want this game, I would wait a while for it to be patched because in it's current state it isn't a good gaming experience.

I'm having such a great time playing this! I have watched The Tribe series countless times, and it has played a big part in my life, so this feels like hanging out with old friends! Very nostalgic. I always wanted to explore the set and be a part of the Mall Rats when I watched the show, so it was like a dream creating my own character and exploring the Mall! Everything about it makes me feel so warm and happy, like watching the show. Only now, I get to be a part of it! I'm only part way through the game. When I started, I told myself I would only play for a little while, but I feel like I want to stay in the story! There is a lot to gather and collect. I may or may not have gotten a bit obsessed with farming... I love the art so much! Seeing the characters like this was so cool. I think the artists did a great job at capturing the essence of the characters. The same can be said for the writing and story as well! I think they captured all the characters very well and without spoiling...

I haven't watched the TV series much.I was introduced to it by a friend when it showed up on Amazon but I was struck by how relevant the series seemed today with the pandemic going on. When it showed up on my steam feed I was intrigued to see it, I have an affinity for small indie style games and as this was developed by the people who did the show I was hoping the feel would be there. It was, the artwork and music are great and you feel like you are truly auditioning for the Mall rats as you progress through the game. Yes the engine can be a bit clunky but for a first time game creator I think it is a magnificent effort. I remember my first few hours of WOW and for a company that spent millions it was unplayable, so was Mass effect, SWTOR and numerous others I could mention but with time and constructive feed back these games became the polished articles they are now.

I haven't had much time of late for gaming due to work and have not watched the TV series. I was only introduced to it through a recent promotion on Steam for RPG Maker, which I'm interested in because I like story-led games and especially ones similar to Stardew Valley. I noticed a review stating about triple-A games and clearly this isn't a multi franchise mega budget franchise. It seems that the developers are truly indie and I really have loved playing the game and getting to know the characters and setup. I'm amazed that the series has been around for so long because it seems so fresh and relevant today. If you're into the multi franchise mega budget type of games, then this probably isn't for you. But if you enjoy story led games and if you're like me, you will warm to all this has to offer. The artwork is awesome. I love the music (I must try and check out where I can obtain some of the tracks). I felt like I had to prove myself through all the quests to be accepted by the tri...

Wow! This is a must for The Tribe fans! I have been a huge fan of The Tribe for many years. This game really made me feel like I was working with the Mall Rats and going on adventures from the series. The art style was wonderful and there were many delightful interactions with the characters throughout the show. Creating my character was awesome as well as the farming and crafting. I loved the turn-based style battle system with fun combat skills. This game was so much fun I really did not want to stop and left me wanting more of this series. I hope that there will be a sequel because I would certainly play it. Thank you to the creator’s hard work!

Okay I remember watching this in my late teens but never seen how it ended, and came across this by chance as a game run on an RPG maker engine which was even better. So, I'm already looking forward to seeing what I can do.

A must if you're a the tribe fan! I see a lot of people complaining of bugs and that it's too limited, but I was honestly very impressed, taking into concideration that this is a low budget game made from a series that's over 20 years old it's a very impressive and enjoyable game :D Also love how they implemented so many characters, even tomorrow characters! would play again 8/10
