Despite being taught how to parry in-game, I couldn't parry the feels from listening to the glorious soundtrack and seeing through the epic adventure of Expedition 33. I learnt more French from playing this game than in one semester of French classes in college. If you did not cry playing this game, you have no soul.

After playing it and getting all achievements, I have to say it is one of the best games I have ever played and is GOTY without a doubt. I loved and enjoyed the gameplay, the story is very good and the OST is one of the best soundtracks I've listened too. Highly recommend since I highly enjoyed it and I am going to replay the game. P.S: Please add photo mode since I love the visuals and the environment and let us carry music records and journals into New Game Plus! I would be very much appreciated! <3

The devs set out to revive the sense of wonder and epicness of Final Fantasy's golden age, pairing it with modernised gameplay and a more mature story. I was skeptical at first, but not for long. They really delivered, and the hype is well deserved. The game is also a genuine collective work of art: the composer, the writer and the art director drew inspiration from one another in a very organic way, and it shows. The fact that this is their first professional project is mind-blowing. It also explains why the game feels so fresh and bold. That said, it's far from perfect. You'll have to overlook some issues, like an unintuitive skill menu, mediocre dungeon design, or game balance problems after Act II, as well as a few technical limitations. While it puts many recent AAA RPGs to shame, it's still a AA game made by a mostly junior team. It took me a while to come to my senses after this experience to write something. GOTY, masterpiece, the game of the decade.... My story with this game is extremely comical, so, I'll keep it short. If someone had told me that I would ever play, a turn-based game in my life, let alone cry as a man over a game, I would have laughed the most evil laugh. This game is "dangerous" to your health, I don't like today's society but this game proved to me that there is still hope for humanity. Please, play this piece of art while you're still alive. Completed the game. My last action was to have one last camp fire and to look at the squad. Knowing I will be uninstalling the game (for now, until an inevitable 2nd play through), this ending felt eerily similar to the ending of the game. I feel overjoyed as I explore the company's YouTube channel and learn about how this game came together. So many factors that lead to the assembling of a small team, some unexperienced in the gaming industry - lead to the creation of a work of art (no pun intended with the whole painting concept). The pride the developers have for this game shined through constantly, and I'm happy my money has gone to support them. I am happy to have experienced this game.

This game doesn’t just touch you — it gifts a kaleidoscope of feelings that stay with you long after.

This is a generational game. The best part of the game is the art direction and OST. The gameplay is fun and the story and characters deliver emotions just right. I will be looking forward to whatever this company puts out next.
