The Games

HUNSVOTTI, by Roope Tamminen: Finland, 1888. The locals are celebrating Juhannus, a nightless night in midsummer said to hold magical power. A ritual must be completed.

Gallerie, by Shakles: The paint whispers in an infamous art gallery where mysterious disappearances have occurred.

The Book of Blood, by Darkstone Digital: The night signals closing time at Pomeroy Grasslands carnival and its employee Trevor volunteers to lock up. Alone in his booth, with a strange book in Lost and Found, a man steps out of the darkness and hands Trevor a note: “let me in.”

Karao, by Stroboskop: A late night of karaoke. A wrong turn. Singing? Where did the train station come from, and where does it go?

Rotten Stigma, by VisceralError: 12 children disappeared at the Gallagher Sports Center in 2006. Neal, a retired policeman, finds the courage to investigate.

Spirit Guardian, by Nikk F.: A daycare haunted by something sinister. Cries for help echo from its empty halls.

We Never Left, by FYRE Games: On a dark and stormy night in 1983, the phone rings. “FINISH THE GAME”.

Vestige, by Philip Hasselback: An old video game from childhood. A familiar place. A dark memory breaks through.

Resver, by Colorfiction: Night about town dancing the troubles away till the garbage trucks chime. Rinse and repeat, clock in clock out. Tonight? That new place Resver. Get moving, your friends are meeting you there.

Ludomalica, by iwilliams: It’s past midnight and mom and dad are gone for the weekend. There’s no better time than now to try playing Ludomalica. It’s just a board game, right? But something feels … wrong.

Beyond the Curtain, by Matt Reeves: A young child falls asleep during a puppet show and awakes alone in an old, musty theater. Finding all the doors to be bricked over, the child must face the darkness that lies beyond the curtains.

INTERIM, by PhantomSloth Games: Alfred moved to Hollywood, with nothing more than a few dollars in his pocket, and a dream in his heart. A dream to be front and center as the leading man in a major motion picture. All eyes would be on him, in the INTERIM.

Production
Stepping up from participant to party planner, developer Scruncho a.k.a Abbey Smith is holding the reins on this out of control amusement ride as new producer. She brings to the table years of experience in developing the spookiest of games.

Dread X Collection 5 is unfortunately the worst collection out of all of them by a considerable margin. The other collections all had a surprisingly high hit rate at least in terms of the games in them being interesting to play. They may not have been good, necessarily, but they were usually interesting. Dread X Collection 5, however, only really has three games out of the twelve that captured my full attention: Vestige, The Book of Blood, and We Never Left, which is saying something because We Never Left is more or less just The House Abandon and also the screen kept going black on me whenever I was in a menu. I found every other game to be either boring and uninspired, or completely infuriating to play. The launcher is honestly more interesting than most of the actual games, and even that's only ok.
