About This Game

BUILD, LEAD, SURVIVE

In ASKA, build and sustain a powerful Viking tribe where you and your villagers work, craft, hunt, and fight together. Command intelligent NPC villagers, guiding them through the challenges of survival in a harsh and dangerous world. Play solo or with up to three friends and forge your legend.

BUILD AND CUSTOMISE YOUR OWN VIKING SETTLEMENT
Design and construct every aspect of your village - from homes and workshops to altars and fortifications. Each structure serves a purpose, contributing to the functionality and defense of your thriving community.

A LIVING, BREATHING VILLAGE
Construct and live within your village. Build, work, and fight alongside your tribe, witnessing & managing your villagers’ daily schedules. Villagers require food, water, & rest as well as having their individual needs and strengths based on their perks. Witness their individual stories unfold as they contribute to the settlement's growth and resilience. You’re not just building a base; you’re nurturing a living community.

LEAD YOUR TRIBE
Assign roles and train villagers in various skills, whether in battle or their chosen vocation. Developing skilled blacksmiths will benefit the tribe with tools and weapons, while proficient hunters will be able to explore further into the world gathering additional resources to feed them more effectively. Strategic planning will enhance your tribe's efficiency and preparedness for external threats.

PREPARE FOR WAR - AND HARSH WINTERS
A wise leader prepares for battle even in peaceful times. In these mystical lands, you must be prepared for the challenges of the Blood Moon, and as winter sets in be ready to face the freeze and prevent your tribe from succumbing to the cold, harsh environment. Seek out dark forces scattered throughout the lands and build powerful runestones to improve your tribe and village. Will you be ready?

the micro managing gets very old and I'm super discouraged by the lack of loot. love the game for what it is but feel like I should be getting loot when im finished and invasion?? not just large stones :/ hopefully that gets fixed soon. Other than that, I really enjoy the game,

It's still early days for me, but I want to set straight a few misconceptions I've read in the comments that nearly turned me off the game. The game is akin to Valheim, but it's also _not_ Valheim. Where Valheim demands exploration, instead you'll spend time building up a village. The grind level is similar (I think Valheim is overkill, tbh) - but you gain villagers that you can put to work on any task. They work fast - they'll actually run - and I've had no issue with them being stupid -- providing you give them proper instruction (use the work area flags, set their priorities and make sure they have tools). You yourself should never sleep - sleep is in real-time and you only use it for 30 seconds to gain a buff, but otherwise you work through the night. Resources are abundant, and if you have trouble finding fibre, just set a worker to get it instead. The game is perfectly stable, performant and bug free. The only issue I've found is that the woodcutter didn't go and get a new a...

This is honestly the only kind of city builder I really enjoy. It mixes combat, automation, creativity, and building in a way that feels balanced and fun. The graphics and atmosphere are great, and I really like how straightforward the combat is, it’s simple and logical without being overcomplicated. At first the game can feel a bit overwhelming, since it doesn’t really explain how you’re supposed to play. In a way, that leaves room for different playstyles, but early on it can definitely come across as a little too tough, especially for new players. You really need to prepare for winter and have at least a decent defense, because the early events can be brutal. Even on easy, they can wipe you out if you’re not ready. The seasons fly by way too quickly for my taste, so I’d recommend extending them, or even maxing them out, if you want a more relaxed playthrough. The map itself looks nice, but it feels a bit too small and repetitive, and there’s not a lot of exploration t...

I love survival games. Not this one. The tedium is off the charts. 1. Movement speed is a serious problem. You do everything so slow. Get ready to spend hours performing tedious tasks to keep the village running (at the early stage of the game). When one tedious task is complete you have 3 more things to do. All at a snail's pace. 2. Combat is simplistic. Swing, block, dodge. That's it. This would have been acceptable in a survival game 10 years ago. 3. Everything has a durability bar. You made arrows 2 days ago? Well, they rotted out. You want to get stocked up on rope? Nope. 4. There are survival settings on start up so you can tailor your game. Kudos for that. If you are 10 hours into your game and realize the game isn't balanced to your liking, you can't change it. You have to start over. Ten hours of tedium gone. You will audibly sigh when you have to hunt again in 2 days because all of your food is rotten only because hunting is NOT fun. I migh...

Finally, a true game of survival, with a Viking twist. This game is designed to DESTROY you, and everything you spend hours to build. It quickly ramps up to keep you constantly on your toes. And, winter is coming, so you have to prepare you and your troops, quickly and efficiently. Fail to do so, and your villagers will either perish or leave out of despair. And I love every minute of it.

Its a nice mixture of survival game and city builder. You can and should automate almost everything. Gameplay loop is a good mix of troubleshooting "economy" and building new stuff, then exploring and fighting bosses. There is a decent level of things to discover and optimize. Love it

Graphics look good. Menus work okay. Animations are well done. Most game mechanics are well made. BUT... There NEEDS to be settings for how grindy you want to play. 12 ropes for one early game building? Nope. This is an INSANE amount of tedium. Micro management might be fun if every gathered resource did not have a timer attached. NO WAY I am going to spend the majority of my gaming time clicking on trees and rocks. Also, the nights are too long. I don't care how realistic it is, I don't enjoy being blind half the game. And, no, you can't bypass night by sleeping. Lastly, villagers are ALWAYS begging for me to make yet another food hunting flag. Obviously the game does not spawn near enough food sources. This is a GRINDING VILLAGE BUILDER SIM< NOT AN OPEN WORLD SURVIVAL GAME. Somewhat disappointed in this purchase because it is not what I was expecting. I will revisit this game in a few months.

Aska, This game if you like the type of civilisation building game, Where you painstakingly build up your empire and start to have everything automated only for that one f****** villager that takes a cart full of materials straight through a F******* Drauger field and leaves the damm cart behind leaving your outpost delayed again Other than that, With the recent Smolker farming, The devs show to really care about a game in early access, it's not like other projects that end up abandoned. If you like the idea of a little settlement game maybe give this one a shot Devs tho it'd be nice for like a corpse harvesting role give the stone cutters somethin, hopefully we get an equivalent for eggs like a giant bird or somethin
