I was playing this on a PS2 emulator and I thought I would give the "updated" steam version a try. From what I can tell, they didn't add anything new (spells or otherwise, ball lightning from the necro is fake) but did remove some things (like cheat menu access). The textures are improved but you can't set resolution or texture quality so it's a guess as to "how much". Sadly, the game still stutters in places (frustratingly only hindering your character not the bosses). Finally, I have to completely agree with anyone who said that it's too expensive for a remake. This is just a sad effort for $30.

Recommended

This was one of my favorite games growing up. I had a lot of fond memories playing this with my dad when I was young. I always played as Ysuran and he was Dorn. Playing it again after he passed away was hard for a while but I'm determined to finish it two more times, one for each of our favorite characters. One day, I'll pass the torch to my own kids. This is one of those games that can stand the test of time. It's not the worst ports I've played tbh. Just play with an XBOX One controller and you'll be fine!
