About This Game

Find a way out in this horror/time loop Game. Hide, run, and uncover the mysteries of the "EOS Complex" as you are pursued by the automated security bots gone rogue. They only move when you do, and you have limited steps before the loop restarts.
So tread carefully, every step could be your last.

Make Every Step Count

Every step you make counts down to 0, solving the mystery of the facility before you run out is essential to your survival. If you do run out, you will be forced back to where you began, you'll keep any items and knowledge, but the world resets.

Tread Softly, Tread Tactically

You are being hunted The security of EOS can only move when you do, use this knowledge to tactically evade, hide and strategize your way out of certain death. You can peak around corners, hide in lockers and sneak out of line of sight, as you gain more tools and knowledge of their behavior you'll become more and more adept at avoiding their pursuit.

Shadow Step

The Shadow step technology allows you to instantaneously move from one point to another, allowing you to move safety from cover to cover, or to location you would otherwise not be able to reach. Use it wisely though, your uses are limited each loop and you wouldn't want to be cornered without it.

Messages from the past

The halls of EOS tell a story, if you listen closely you can uncover the true intentions of the facility and what's really transpired. Escaping is one thing, but how you escape will determine the fate of the facility and people you leave behind.

Make every step count, you never know when it will be your last.

If you're a fan of Five Nights, you're gonna LOVE this game! I'm not the biggest fan of horror, but 13 Steps features a super unique gameplay system that gives the player back power and makes it super accessible to everyone! The monsters only move when you do so there's a sense of strategy that surrounds every round you play. It's not just hide and pray in real-time like in other horror games. You know when you've made a mistake and you can take either bite the bullet and wildly commit (often very fun & adrenaline fuelled) or take a step back to rethink your approaches (at the cost of limited time :O). Once the step timer depletes and you start getting desperate/taking risks, that's when the real fun begins. I've only unlocked 2 endings but apparently there's more from what the reviews below me have stated. I think I'll try to find one more and update this review on how I feel about the 3rd replay. And you know what's crazy?! There really are no bugs! The whole game runs smooth as ...

13 Steps is without a doubt a great indie horror title, full of intrigue and mysteries to uncover. I highly recommend to anyone looking to have a few hours of spooky fun this halloween! I've put a few hours in now, unlocked three of the endings (so far), and I can say I'm thoroughly enjoying my time. It is spooky, intriguing and rewarding all at the same time. The atmosphere and sound design is very immersive, keeping you on edge as you solve the puzzles and explore the eerie EOS buildings. The premise centres around tracking your steps as you attempt to escape a time loop in a remote research facility. But it's not as easy as it sounds, you have to use the data-logs you find along the way to point you in the right direction. Not to mention the multiple shark animatronics that stalk the premises. They will appear when you least expect it, leading to a handful of restarted loops (oops). Obtaining upgrades and useful tools as you explore, such as the shadowstep device (short range te...

Story: Compelling! I'm still in the early stages of the game but I'm keen to see how this mystery unfolds. The different spaces feel about right and I am spooked! Will update this review as I go along.

Cool indie horror game with what seems like a lot of replay value.. So far I've had fun finding little secrets all over the place and trying to optimise the sections I've been able to figure out. The scares don't get old and the shark-bots still manage to freak me out even when I know they're just around the corner. Gameplay is easy to pick up and with each unsuccessful loop you still feel like you're making progress by learning things to make your next loop more successful. Definitely recommend for fans of horror or people who like non-linear storytelling and digging into mysteries.

Emerging from a pod you awake unaware of your surroundings. Through following a series of breadcrumbs distributed in the form of data logs you'll quickly learn the area well. At the start death feels inevitable when the step meter reaches 0, however after only a couple loops(deaths) you start to survive, thus preserving your integrity bar. I have a lot of playtime and I'm still on the same save after plenty of accidental, experimental (I wonder what would happen if I jumped from here?), and the likely inevitable deaths that come from exploring for the first time. So while the threat of save deletion exists if your integrity bar reaches 0, I wouldn't worry that much about it. I earned my first ending around 4 hours in, which was delayed due to searching many times over for something that didn't exist. In all that searching though I became aware of other elements that are part of different endings. Returning to loop again with that information seemed promising, however another 8-ish hou...

Short and sweet little horror game based around a cool mechanic executed well. The fact that time stops when you're not moving doesn't do much to deter a sense of impending doom as you cautiously lean around the corner, looking for an enemy waiting to catch you unawares. Honestly surprised I've not heard of this game before now, if you're reading this give it a go 👍

13 Step is a a solid Indie game with a surprisingly good atmosphere that keeps the player constantly looking out for danger. The "Sharkboi" has a genuinely threatening presence and can lead to very tense and terrifying gameplay moments. There are some very minor performance issues and spelling mistakes in the UI, but nothing game breaking to take the player from the experience that the game provides. Overall, fantastic game and hope the very best for the developer/s with this game's future.

It is a beautifully crafted world and you can tell a huge amount of care has been given to every detail. The monsters made me jump so many times I lost count. Definitely worth the price, I have gotten so many hours out of it already and I haven’t found the first ending yet. Looking forward to finding all of the endings and all the collectibles!

A fascinating indie horror game with a unique twist. A couple hours in & I feel like I'm only just scratching the surface of both the core game-play objectives (which can lead to multiple different endings) & the lore that there is to discover about the nefarious EOS corporation. The combination of limited steps & the sharkbots only being able to move when you do brings a unique level of strategy to exploration, and the integrity meter that is forever threatening to wipe your save causes you to carefully consider each and every step. Beyond just making progress towards your escape, there is a myriad of secrets to find, plushies to collect, & vhs tapes to view. Hunting down each one requires a level of risk to step-count and integrity (as well as having the pants scared off you by the predatory killer robots) that makes the pay-off for discovering them all that more rewarding. I'm having a lot of fun so far & can't wait to see what else there is to discover!
