My mom had a stroke about a year ago at this point and struggles a lot with work, memory, and energy. She likes video games to a degree especially puzzle-y ones. I bought this game on a whim and was trying it out when I got to the first riddle skull and my mom just happened to walk into my room and see me playing it and we both sat there for a minute trying to figure it out, and once we got it we we're both hooked. We had several nights where we stayed up very late playing this game. Even my dad joined in and he doesn't care much for video games. The game quite literally brought my family together and its a high I've been chasing since we beat this game. We are DESPERATELY hoping this game gets a sequel, because if it does I will buy it day one and have a great time with my mom once again. Cryptmaster isnt the best game I've ever played but it is one of if not the best experience I've had playing a game and I just want to thank the developers for that. It was great and I can only hope ...

About the Game
SAY ANYTHING in Cryptmaster - the bizarre dungeon-crawling adventure where words control everything. In the ancient past, four brave heroes banded together to destroy a terrible evil, giving their lives to save countless others. But now their eternal rest has been disturbed by the Cryptmaster, a capricious necromancer in whose thrall they must ascend through the buried strata of the city above them - the gloomy Bonehouses, mysterious Sunken Sea and freakish Downwood.
With the enigmatic Soulstone in hand, the four adventurers must recover their memories, solve whimsical puzzles and defeat outlandish enemies. From fishing and card games to bardic rap battles, finding the right word is the key to success. Who knows, maybe you'll even remember a little more than you bargained for...

Adored this. I have slow reflexes and realtime combat makes me panic, so turn-based mode was a godsend for someone like me. Loved all the riddles, guessing words from fragments, the aesthetic, the humour, the pacing. THE CARD GAME. Delightful.
Riddles, weirdness, and British wit
What drew me to Cryptmaster was the art style and the word-based gameplay, something I hadn’t really touched since I was a kid. It turns out, solving riddles in a dungeon crawler is a really fun twist, and the word puzzles were easily my favourite part of the game. You don’t see many games challenge you with actual questions anymore. That said, the typing-based combat did wear thin after a while, I found myself using the same words over and over just to get through fights. But the game’s generous hint system really helped. I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, but the ability to get extra guesses or even have the Cryptmaster offer the answer kept things fun instead of frustrating. I loved the art style and how simple and clear the movement felt. The voice acting was charming, the humour hit well, and the overall vibe was silly, strange, and consistently intriguing. My only real gripe? Trying to solve a riddle while some bug ski...
Do you like playing Wordle (I do) but want it to have more story, more adventure and more jokes? If so this is the game for you. If not, it still might be a game for you because it's awfully well done Fun dungeon crawler where almost all the game mechanics involve coming up with words based on limited information. It's delightful
you may think this game has a spooky kinda vibe. this game is actually a dungeons and dragons campaign is disguise (dnd movie type of dnd)
A very unique game that's a bit rough around the edges. The core system of trying to figure out new moves that fit with your party's backstory and quickly typing out moves is neat, but there isn't really enough to make you need to think more beyond a couple of combos. The puzzles where you deduce items are a great concept but unfortunately feel a bit arbitrary with how your answers and questions are interpreted. And the skull puzzles are basically just ripped out of a middle school riddle book. Overall I appreciate this game for taking a chance on a new concept and it's worth trying just to explore what it has to offer, but I hope in the future a sequel can be made that delivers on the execution a bit more.
A really neat take on dungeon crawling, instead of smashing your controller, you smash your keyboard while the Cryptmaster serves as your guide or more like moral support.
shockingly boring. the most boring experience in any medium ever. you should buy and play this game just to see how boring it is.
Fun and different
Amazing game but the Silas Son riddle is fucking stupid imo, generally speaking it should be the father-in-law, not just the father. We don't know the gender or sexuality of the skull to say that it is definitely the father.
