The visuals are very low resolution with poor textures. There are no sounds. Motion controllers are not supported. The UI is ugly. To start VR, you have to click on start VR on the desktop screen, then wait for the files to load, then you can click start to begin VR. You can use an Xbox controller to steer the boat manually (or you can choose automatic mode). You steer with joystick and then use directional for throttle. You can choose between day, night, or foggy weather. You can make the map / radar closer to view. Even at full throttle, your boat goes very slow. At the end of the day, I don't know what this app is for. If this is a 1:1 rendering of Norway's coast, then that's good. The problem is that it sure doesn't look like you're in Norway. This program is an advanced radar simulator, mainly intended to be used in Screen Mode. The PC screen is divided into 3 windows.Radar window, Map window and a Visual window. The program is operated with a mouse in Screen Mode.
The radar simulates a rotating antenna that "scans" a 3-dimensional map (the surroundings you see in the Visual window), and creates a realistic radar image".
Then it is necessary to interpret what you see on the radar screen. Are there land, boats buoys or other objects shown? This interpretation comes with experience and this is what you can get by using this simulator.
Your position is shown on the Map window, and in the Visual window you see the surroundings. Compare this with what you see on the radar screen, and eventually you will interpret the radar image correctly and trust what you see there. Then you will feel safer sailing at night and in poor visibility.
With this simulator, you can also practice night sailing where you have to identify beacons and light buoys (characteristics and sectors) so that you can verify your position. You will also see the other boats' navigation lanterns.

Users need to realise that this is a Radar sim and not a boating simulator. The experience is in the use of the radar, AIS and GPS for navigation and collision control in the scenarios, not the graphics of the boat. Great is you want to hone your navigation skills.
