Played the demo to the end, and the main game is pretty good as well, its like 2d halflife, and the puzzle are pretty entertaining, but you can stockpile if you want to fight your way through everything if puzzles aren't your thing. Would recommend!

About the Game
Mycosis is a mix of action and puzzle platformer in the style of classic games. It’s been set in dusty corridors of a mysterious research facility that comes alive and kicking, and it’s up to you whether you blast your way through with a flamethrower or find a way to overcome the traps and puzzles using found objects and environmental features.
You know how it is when you come to work in the morning and a strange infection spreads through the ventilation, turning your colleagues into fungal zombies... Classic. The story of the game is inspired by my vocation as a microbiologist (no, The Last of Us wasn’t the inspiration) and contains many references to both current and past aspects of the Institute of Microbiology (MikroBiologický Ústav in Czech) — hence the subtitle Heroes of MBÚ.
Since childhood, I wanted to create my own game. This debut is my humble tribute to the legendary games like Abuse, Half-Life and the original Fallout. I built the game on my own engine, in Java, as an amateur enthusiast which took me over eight years. It was a long - but amazing - journey. It allowed me to dive in and take pleasure in full creative freedom.
Now! I hope you’ll enjoy as much as I enjoyed creating it!

User Reviews
This 2D arcade game is a unique masterpiece in the realm of low-fi sci-fi, standing out with its originality and artistic touch. It's rare to encounter a game that embraces the 'science' in science fiction as earnestly as this one does. The minimalist style complements the deeply scientific themes, providing a gameplay experience that is both intriguing and refreshingly novel. If you're looking for a game that truly embodies the essence of science fiction, look no further. This game impressively pushes the boundaries of what sci-fi in gaming can be.
Very witty, and incredibly unique, Mycosis is a real gem for collectors and enjoyers of indie games. I can't remember the last time I was so drawn to a 2D sidescroller like this. I pumped in the hours hunting for the hidden secrets (which do not disappoint), never waiting for the end. It must be good design. Mycosis has a well-rounded, three-act structure. Backtracking is possible, but not necessary. Each room is a puzzle to solve with what you have on-hand. The south-park style animation really shines, and the soundtrack never got boring. Plus, now I know that picric acid "explodes really well". Definitely worth your time!
Cool game, not boring to play :)
Brilliant take on classic games from past. Mycosis is hard where i shoud be, funny where it shoud be a dense where it shoud be. If you want nostalgia filled take on games from ´classical´ era of gaming, dont miss this gem.
Mycosis is an imaginative, highly creative game that keeps players on their toes with unexpected twists and turns. Combining intense shooting mechanics with clever science-inspired puzzles, players face off against a variety of terrifying monsters using an arsenal of cool, inventive weapons. The game's well-thought-out structure and a great build-up across the game's individual levels ensure a deeply engaging experience, balancing challenge with fun. Fans of science, puzzles, and witty humor will find Mycosis an amazing delight, offering both mental stimulation and fast-paced action in equal measure.
If you won't get discourage by its look, you will be rewarded by nice gameplay with plenty of options and interactions. Great game. Getting nice Last of us vibes.
