I never leave reviews for anything, this is one of the all time greatest RPG's I've ever played. It's very reminiscent of Chrono Trigger in the way it tells it's story in a way where you can play a completely different game from one play-through to the next, including a New Game+ style feature where you can enter the game stronger than previous play-through's in order to see more of the game or try out a different play style to see a new ending. My lone complaint of the game stems from something others may find to be a positive. In the vein of older RPG's where you seemingly needed to know the correct way through the game to get a full complete play-through, there are many secrets in this game you can miss by making one decision. I'm not a huge fan of choosing 1 incorrect conversation choice and missing an entire segment of the game because of it. This is a must buy, and if it's on sale and you don't buy it, you're only depriving yourself of a wonderful RPG. This should be the game t...

SAD. This game had the potential to be a masterpiece, but the fundamental game design is just broken. At first, it feels like you’re encouraged to build your dream team from a dozen different characters, which sounds awesome. The problem? The story constantly forces teammates to join and leave at random, and in about half the boss fights… your teammates just don’t even show up. It’s especially frustrating when the two main girls are absent for like 70% of the game. By the end, I realized it’s not worth investing in anyone but your own character, because chances are your favorite teammates will be yanked from your party for some ridiculous story reason right before a tough boss fight. Great concept, but this design choice just kills the fun. 真遗憾。 这款游戏本来有潜力成为神作,但根本性的游戏设计就是坏的。 一开始你会觉得游戏鼓励你从十几个角色中组建自己的梦之队,听起来很棒吧?问题是,剧情会...

Awesome game! If you're into Wuxia this game has it all. Beggars Sect, Wudang, Shaolin, etc. 18 Dragon Subjugation Palms, Tai Chi, Lion's Roar, epic Aura moments!! It's a Wuxia movie/series/novel put into a beautiful pixel graphics game. If someone makes this game into a movie I would watch it! So many epic moments in the story! Characters having that epic moment! Gameplay is fun, typical tactical RPG, with Wuxia twist. Gameplay is simple exp points and character leveling is easy to learn, confusing at first, but is really simple once you get the hang of it. Story 10/10 Keep up the good work Swordsman Studio and Spiral Up Games. My only gripe is I wish there was more!!! Add more content and Ill pay!!!

I'm only at the half-way point of the game (I think) but I need to make this comment now, after about 75 hours of gameplay I can't recommend this game enough, an amazing wuxia game, a lot of hidden side quests and recruit-able npcs that you need to active look for as you progress the main quest, the power progression is addicting with each piece of gears, meridian point, book manuals that you earn/learn, a surprisingly good story - one which i didn't really expect since the power-scaling gameplay was what attracted me to the game, like seriously some of the npc allies that you can recruit have insanely good storyline that you must go through before being able to recruit them [spoiler] Xun YaoYao my beloved I hope you can be recruited [/spoiler] . I went in expecting a funny game where you just abuse the system to get stronger (by [strike] robbing [/strike] sparring every character that you can for their [strike] sparring gifts [/strike] loot) and I got way more than I expected - HIGHLY...

What I like: * graphic - very detailed HD-2D sprites, varied enemies and animations, hand-drawn character portraits. Overall it's superior compared to Octopath Traveler * music - relaxing * story - pretty cliche MC, but many of the side characters and their story arcs are very interesting. The final part of the story is pretty epic. * battle system and progression - satisfying and embodies Chinese wuxia perfectly * multiple endings including perfect harem ending What I don't like: * PRESS M IN OVERWORLD (no idea why this isn't the default) * fast travel is limited - need to go to a fast travel point to fast travel (can't do it directly from map) * some janky translations from Chinese to English (50/50 on this) * lots of missables if you are not careful (quest markers in overworld would make it a lot easier)

I checked i already played 152 h to this game. I am at the end of the third playthrough, and i must say this game is as good as this genre can get. The story telling, the replayability, the branches in the story.... this is a love letter from the developers, and i would like to give them my most sincere congratulations and thanks: You have done something remarkable, ambitious and excelent in every way. You should be proud. For the players, i will only say that if you are into this, you definetily need to play this game. You will never regret.

If you are a fan of classic Wuxia, JRPG's, beautiful 2.5D artwork and rich narrative stories, lots of legit 'choices matter' moments that run 30 - 40 hours deep in their consequences, deep and intricate systems of skills and experience customisation, I cannot recommend the game Wandering Sword enough. It has absolutely blown my mind and redefined my expectations of what these kinds of games can deliver. It's pretty affordable, on Steam, and where normally by the time I'm a day or two into most games I'm starting to wane - this just keeps delivering more cool story arcs, awesome power creep where you are both continuously challenged and made to feel powerful as you unlock new skill manuals and learn about your Qi from a rich host of helpful, and also hostile NPC's with their own agendas and plans. If you like roleplaying games, and story + mechanic rich romps - or Wuxia / Chinese fantasy? WANDERING SWORD. GET IT.

Great Wuxia pixel graphics style game. The different combos and things to find with a good story.
