‘Roma VR – Domus’ is a 5 minute guided tour of a famous house of an ancient Roman banker before it was destroyed by the eruption of Mt.Vesuvius in 79 A.D. The narrator’s voice is easy to listen to and there is a good amount of information within the guided talk. Or you can just walk around yourself, but there is no information to read or anything to interact with. It’s just so raw it’s hard to justify it for £4.79, in fact, it would have been better off as a freebie there really is that little in the way of content here. It’s not terrible I suppose and would be better used in an educational setting, but those of us who find this sort of thing interesting should probably look elsewhere.

Played on Oculus Quest 2, I'm looking for good educational historical content in vr. You get to explore a single room in Pompeii, but its done quite well. The collision detection in some areas is a little off, but its not a problems. For the price I think you should probably get more content for the price as the whole experience really is about 10 minutes worth. If you want to explore aincient Rome in an educational context you probably get better value for money in the Colosseum VR. Whats even better is running it in guided tour mode, but with roomscale VR enabled too, that gives much greater immersion

Very informative and an overall fun, engaging experience into an ancient Roman household. The guided tour was educational but as a 'free-roamer' I was very appreciative of the fact that I was given the option to explore the map at my own pace. For such a low price, I am very much looking forward to the next release!

I might give this experience another try after it leaves early access and become a full 'game'. It's nice enough. It's a pity you can get through the whole thing so quick.

I have experienced several issues starting the experience. First, it didn't work with Virtual Desktop for Oculus Quest 2, unlike other 99.9% steamvr/oculus supported apps and games. I had to setup Oculus AirLink in order to run it. It ran properly after a few trials, probably because my Oculus AirLink software needed an update. Eventually, when I was able to run it, I didn't find something worth to effort. It contains a very short guided experience (shorter than many free experiences) and free roaming of the same small area. The smooth turning is the only available option causing motion sickness with its flickering turn. The graphics quality was poor, but could be enough for its purpose if there was more content and information. Or it would be a decent experience if vr roaming mechanics were executed well and the app was started without much effort.

I'm a big fan of Roman history so I really liked this. There is a tour which is short but very easy to listen to. The free roam mode lets you walk all around the house with some natural ambient sounds. I can definitely see the potential for expansion of the tour and adding interactable objects. Overall it's a immersive experience, not a game and if you're a fan of ancient Rome it's definitely worth 6 bucks to "feel" like you're in ancient Rome.
