I must be missing something given the reviews because I do not enjoy this game. It looks like a god game - it even says "shape worlds with your godly titans" but what that actually means is you click "create biome" on the relevant titan to get some of that type of land. Same with placement of the animals/resources for the given biome. The titans are otherwise meaningless. It is really just a tile placement game where you min-max the placement of things to get multipliers in the score, to achieve objectives and unlock more. It's all a bit grandiose for such a simple premise, and I found it clunky, for example it is unclear knowing what is contributing to your score and what you can safely replace without going backwards (you have to keep replacing things as you upgrade the land to higher tiers to get more advanced things to place). If it was one third, or even half, the price I wouldn't submit a negative review but it's not a cheap game and I didn't get my money's worth so had to ba...

About This Game
Become a God once again in Reus 2 by taking control of mighty giants whose command over their elements allows you to shape worlds, create an ecosystem of resources and enable human civilizations to thrive. Your choices will determine the fates of these fragile human beings, whose autonomy may lead them to great heights.
Shape worlds with Giants
Utilize a roster of 6 powerful Giants, each with their own unique abilities over plants, animals and minerals that will allow you to create new biomes for humans to settle their villages. As you progress, gain inspiration to unlock more skills for your Giants, providing you with a diversity of choices.
Relationships and disasters
With the !New Cataclysm update!, you can choose to take on more optional challenges. Leaders can now form relationships with Giants and each other based on their personality, become allies through trade or go to war. Humanity can also turn against your giants, sending out Giant Hunters to destroy them! Punish them with disastrous new powers, using the elements to teach them to respect the gods.
Create thriving ecosystems
Terraform a variety of biomes, strategically build up different combinations of flora, fauna and materials specific to those environments. By experimenting, discover which combinations create the best synergies for the inhabitants' needs and goals, leading you into exciting new eras of their existence.
Lead humanity into the future
Shape the development of humanity with your choices as they evolve from early human societies to modern civilizations. Whether it's travelling to the stars as space explorers, starting a cult or wishing to cultivate nature, they will all have their goals. No matter the outcome, remember, you can always start a new humanity.
Fill a galaxy with life
Each playthrough leaves a lasting legacy in the stars by generating a new planet for you to experiment with. Fill the galaxy with endless variations of life and be inspired to take a new path with your next creation.

What a unique eco-god sim! Part puzzle, part civ/city builder, this is a refreshing and cozy addition to any library that loves to have citty-builders and puzzles on hand. Hopefully, before they move on to Reus 3, we get at least a couple more DLCs with a couple more biomes and three or four more giants to flesh out the game a bit more and allow for unique combinations.
I Love the game! It feels to me like a great board game, so if it was one, Reus 2 would be a really well executed solo board game. It's definetly for you if you like discovering interactions and love to optimize your strategy.
I wasn't 100% sure what I was getting when purchasing this, so to be clear - this is very much a "Puzzle Game" with a civilization & ecosystem theme. It works really well. Tons of different strategies, and depending on your approach early in a playthru it will have impact on the narrative & goals later on. Amassing more & more species of plants & animals, and varieties or minerals, is fun from a collecting standpoint but each one also opens multiple gameplay & scoring combinations. The graphics & aesthetics are a highlight. The animals & people engage in various animated behaviors as you play, some are just cosmetic but some human behaviors like caravans, exploration, raids, etc, have gameplay impacts. It makes the world feel vibrant & dynamic despite being mostly turn-based. One of my go-to "I have 1.5 hours before bed, what's something chill to play with a natural stopping point" games.
so good!!! gameplay loop is satisfying, the variations of different gods and different spirits and quests make each playthrough interesting. you can focus on any of 100 different things and all of the different endings and paths you can take through the different eras give you good structure and goals to keep you going. the art and music is amazing, and the gods' designs are so cute i've lost hours at a time getting sucked into this game, definitely recommend!
Great improvement on Reus 1 (which I also very much enjoyed) in most ways. I like going from a timer to a resource for eras, I think the bonuses work together fairly intuitively, and they managed to update the art style and the giants while still keeping the same charm of the first game (to me). Both DLCs have been good additions so far.
Reus 2 is cute and fun single-player turn-based strategy game made by a passionate team. The first game, while having the same idea of controlling giants to shape a world and create synergies, was real-time which was a little stressful; It was annoying to pause and un-pause with such frequency in order to feel like I was planning to the best of my ability. Reus 2 switches it up by going almost entirely turn-based, which allows one to plan and adds a fun new constraint in terms of difficulty. Games for me tend to last somewhere between 1-3 hours, making it perfect for playing a whole game in one session. There is lots of variety between the different giants, leaders, and biotica which differ your playthroughs. However, even with that variety, games do end up feeling a little too similar, which hinders how many games I play in a short period of time. That's primarily due to the repetitive start (the first age is the most similar between playthroughs due to the starting biotica being ...
Excellent puzzle game that has only gotten better with updates and DLC. Getting proper combinations of biotica to trigger a hefty score boost is addictive and with a lot of achievements and unlocks to chase, you'll be creating planets for quite some time!
Super enjoyable game from a lovely dev team!
Great sequel to Reus! Love the updates and new features. Definitely worth your time and money. Plus, there is tons of re-playability with all the different combinations you can try!
