The game is excellent, with beautiful graphics, fun resource management, and a colorful cast of characters. ...until it gets overwhelming. If you love extensive micromanagement of 20 different things all at once while trying please too many characters all at once to the point they all blur together, you'll like this. It was too exhausting for me.

Potionomics is a unique and ambitious blend of simulation, strategy, and role-playing elements that invites players into the quirky world of running a potion shop in a fantastical setting. At its core, the game combines classic business management mechanics with a deep narrative focus, rich character interactions, and an eccentric sense of humor that sets it apart from other titles in the simulation genre. What starts as a simple task of brewing and selling potions quickly evolves into a complex dance of resource management, relationship building, and tactical decision-making. The gameplay centers on managing every aspect of your potion shop — from gathering ingredients and experimenting with new recipes to pricing your wares and marketing to a diverse range of customers. The crafting system is intuitive yet offers layers of depth, requiring players to balance ingredient costs, potion effectiveness, and customer preferences. What makes this system particularly engaging is how experi...

5 Point review 5 pros and 5 cons. Thumbs up or down is just my personal like or dislike of the game. Pro

Cute graphics styles that make the world and characters look unique and expressive.
Tons of voice acting for main characters.
Several different management systems lead to decent depth gameplay wise.
Crazy gameplay length for cost even better if on sale.
The selling aspect acts like the card systems you see in many roguelikes though much simpler.
Con

Overly repetitive gameplay leads to the game wearing out its welcome.
This isn't really a shop simulator like other games with the same concept. It is mainly a story driven game with light shop management elements.
A bulk of the games length is going to be cutscenes, leading to long moments of no gameplay.
The haggle system just feels too simple to be engaging making the selling more tedious then fun.
There is little outside th...

There's an ok amount I like about the game: The style, the writing (it's really fun and very funny!), the concept. But the things I don't like are starting to add up after almost 12 hours: 1) The clunky UI.: Too many loading screens / long load times. You forgot to buy something for your recipe? Better back out of five different screens to hop over to the shop... What item did you need to buy again?? 2) Recipe book isn't a recipe book. It's a vague guide on the colour you're going to need - If you want to remember what items you used for that really nice recipe you made a couple of hours ago, you might want to either set up a gsheet or invest in a pile of post-it notes. 3) The romance: Options are steered very heavily towards furries and lesbians (the men are literally two himbos and a buff shark in need of an attitude adjustment) - nothing wrong with that if you into it. I am not. What ingredient did I use to make X again? Errrrrrrrrrrr Maybe it was on page 10 of this endless...

Tldr: A fantastic "Item Shop" game with charming visuals, outstanding dialogue and voice acting, and some of the most cohesive, varied, and FUN item shop mechanics around. The recent update makes it perfect for someone turned off by games where you can "Fail the run" or don't like playing through multiple times. This game is amazing! I would scold myself for not playing it sooner, but then I found out about all the recent additions, and I'm glad I waited! - The art style is gorgeous, adorable, and expressive! Fantastic use of Persona-like character conversations to really get the most out of the character models. - Very fun mechanics that blend several game genres into one cohesive experience! I love a game that manages to combine characters, story, and game-play into one cohesive thing. Character relationships granting game-play boons is always great for me. - The deck-building haggling system is by far the most fun I've ever had with "barter mechanics" or just running a Merc...

Finished the game and here is my short review. Good: - conversations are funny - design is nice - gameplay itself is good. No bugs found during my playtime - you can continue after the story ends. This is a big! plus Bad: - the concept of the main story is a simple repeat for every week until the end. 1. go to the guild to get the highest grade material 2. replicate the material with higest values which you need for the contest 3. buy the newer couldron if one is available 4. craft the potion and throw it into aging barrels until the contest 5. prepare in the meantime for the money you will need next week. Which means you prepare 1 category of potion that will get a boost at one point. Then sell them all in one go. Be it small, medium or other size. If you had time you can also throw them into the aging barrel and upgrade your shelves for higher value. Repeat this for each week and you are done with the game. Its ... too simple. Tried to spend some time afterwards in the game a...

I absolutely loved my time playing Potionomics! The potion-crafting system is super satisfying, and every recipe feels rewarding to perfect. On top of that, the characters are so well-written and charming that I found myself looking forward to every interaction. It’s a delightful mix of strategy, creativity, and storytelling that kept me hooked from start to finish.
