About This Game

Building on the best aspects of UnderMine, an acclaimed action-adventure roguelike, UnderMine 2 takes dungeon crawling to a whole new level! Discover, combine, craft, and transmute powerful relics and take your lowly peasant from zero to hero. Trivial human politics distract as cosmic machinations unfold — there is more than one war in Delvemore. While King Faraam IV attempts to regain control of his kingdom, the unseen war between two daemonic siblings ripples the fabric of reality.

PLAY WITH A FRIEND

Invite your friend to drop in and play through the entirety of UnderMine 2 together! Two-player co-op lets you tackle the game with each other, presenting a dynamic challenge and opening up new strategic options.

PLAYABLE CHARACTERS

Discover, unlock, and play as new characters, including Black Rabbit, a lucky and ambitious treasure hunter. Each character has unique stats, abilities, upgrades, and relics.

BRANCHING PATHS

New regions of the Undermine have been revealed, and each branches off into various other areas. Navigate it to complete builds, quests, and different objectives. Your final challenge depends entirely on your decisions throughout the run.

ARCANA

Wield new, interactive relics called Arcana. Each adds a new ability to your character, from casting fireballs to summoning skeleton minions to rearranging time and space.

This game needed to be 30% more complete upon release to avoid the negative reviews it's deservedly obtaining. The graphics are nicer, the the music is MUCH better. The gameplay is fundamentally worse. There's hardly enough gold to do anything you'd like during a run. On most floors I can either buy the shop relic and nothing else, or not the relic and a single overpriced key/food. Curses are much worse than before, now only unique curses exist and so it seems like a waste of a key and then eventually 50 health to get a single small blessing. For some reason gargoyles are no longer instantly killed when bombing their healing tombs, bombs take a fraction of health. I'm sure this is to encourage upping your stat for bomb damage, but it's not worth it otherwise. For some unknown reason they've decided that unstable concoction no longer explodes dropped gold, it produces a measly shockwave. and WORST OF ALL they added Tus without adding Banjo! The devs had a few years...

It's a really fun game and I'd love to recommend it, but I simply can't. The runs are too short (4 floors per section down to 2!) and the active curses are sometimes so detrimental that they're just harder than the actual rooms. Boss progression is so out of whack that it's shocking. The first boss is so easy you can close your eyes and smash the keyboard for a few seconds, the second boss is really tough for being so early (unless you have bounce for either, lol) the third boss is straight up forgettable, the fourth is way easier than the original and really brainless, and the fifth..... my god the fifth. I played the original for a long time and mastered the mechanics of undermine, but by god I still can't beat it. the bubbles don't fit with the speed of the fight, the boss is really fast and the ONLY counter-play is timing jumps (cuz hes faster than you) and it gets overwhelming fast. I've had incredible runs that end on him because the fight is just super poorly designed. Losing on...
Summary
The game is great but i think it suffers a little bit from a slow start until you unlock the slots for a second Arcana and get a bit more health. Feels great and satisfying when you get good combo items or high level blessings.
Pro
* Some of the Arkana combos feel really good * New monsters and mechanics feel nice * Boss fights feel like less of a grind * Some of the curses end up being blessings if you have the right item * Black Rabbit feels fun to play
Con
* Feels a little bit slow until things are unlocked especially holding 2 arkana * Movement can feel jank sometimes undermine 1 felt better, dropping bombs feels worse as they drop the way you are facing and not under your * I dont know why but falling into holes is way easier as i find them harder to see... additionally i'll accidentally fall to the next floor down

Product not yet ready and probably never will be. Just a cashgrab - author thinks people will purchase this anyway, despite it's less advanced previous game with new problems, bugs, less "accurate" gameplay. It's not as pleasant and "gameplay-perfect" as previous one, so playing this game feels weird. The same thing as first part with the same and even more issues. Same thing linked with new drawbacks and less content. Not worth the price, not worth waiting for future updates.

I love the original UnderMine, but my friend and I have to share by passing off the controller. UnderMine 2 has co-op, it's amazing. Use "remote play together" so friend guy doesn't have to buy it and you can play online.

For me the game is mostly similar to the first one, but I'm also ok with that because I enjoyed the first one quite a bit. I also understand that this is likely not a finished game considering its in early access, however if this the final content it'll be a bit disappointing and feel more like something that could have been an expansion pack for the first game. I like the amount of floors, the variation of playstyles, the story is fine but for me its not really hugely important in a game like this its more about how the game plays. I always wish these games had an endless dungeon type of mode where you could keep going with increased difficulty. I'm guessing we'll see a ng++ type of game in a future iteration but its not in here yet. In this iteration there are a few annoying bugs, like gold and blessings getting stuck on chests where if you don't have a bomb to remove the chest you will not be able to get the blessing. Another one when you're throwing a suped up range wea...

I played the original quite a bit and can honestly say that this game is much harder and the item descriptions and stats are very convoluted!! Just another example of game developers thinking that more is better when that is not necessarily the truth. Its just too much in my opinion.

Finished the current EA content. While I will say it's very clearly EA and there are a lot of things missing that will clearly be added in the future, what is currently available is excellent. I was a bit shocked to see Mixed reviews tbh when the original is well rated. I actually went back to play the original for a couple of runs to refresh my memory and compare the two, and overall Undermine 2 has a lot going for it and is almost definitely going to be a better game than the original. Anyway, the game is a roguelite with progression elements. It's a lot of fun. If you prefer a completed game, definitely wishlist it and come back but if you liked the original Undermine this is a must play.

I recommend games based on cost vrs time played, this system works because if the game is bad i dont play it, both entries in this franchise have many hours logged by me, as solid as it is in early access, heck i wish some AAA titles were as solid as this. I will buy each new Undermine game so long as they keep this level of quality! i dont need a game to be the best i need it to be consistant and playable with replay value, you have that here!

Very disappointed in this game, its just the first game with minor changes that really do nothing to establish itself as a sequel rather than a shallow remake.
