Whishlisted this game for years, waiting for it to get a 50% off. Terrible mistake. This game is totaly worth the full price, and even moar. Seriously, the content given by the devs is just insane. Basicaly you get an exploration/hunting game with many different biomes, mixed with a restaurant simulation/gestion and some harvesting/farming elements. This is already quite a lot in itself, but you add to this a HUGE amount of other activities ! From photography to gambling, seahorse racing, tomagotchi, Final Fight, Wotagei (google it) simulation and many other mini games, of all styles, incredible. Also the humor is delightful and the cutscenes just awesome. If you're considering this game, just try it and go for a refund if you're not overwhelmingly satisfied. But you will be. Buy it. Now.

This game has everything; fishing, farming, restaurant management, roguelike exploration and combat, quests, minigames - and I think all of it is balanced really well. Individually I get tired of each of these types of games, but the pacing and regular switching between different elements makes Dave the Diver an addictive experience that can hold your attention for long periods of time. Just one more dive...
One of my favorite games in years. I think it is adorable, pleasing, challenging enough (though not difficult), and has a lot of heart. I had just been joking about how I don't like fishing mini-games in video games, and then loved this game that is a Fish Game w/ *other* mini-games.
The story line is fun and the mechanics never get boring! Even after 11 hours of playing the game I am still discovering new things. Some things I wish I would have had earlier, but it keeps game-play fresh and interesting.
I really enjoyed this charming little game. The characters were vibrant , the mechanics were fun and whilst the story was somewhat on the simpler side i still enjoyed it quite alot!
"An inch deep and a mile wide" pretty much sums up every aspect of this game, especially the story and the mechanics. The first several hours drip-feed new mechanics to you until it feels overwhelming, but each is little more than a mini-game you play in certain contexts. If you could progress through the game using only one or a few of these, that would be great; Stardew Valley does this with great success. But, to progress through Dave the Diver, you're required to use all of them. With so many different mechanics and systems, some will be better, more polished, or more liked than others. So, you'll eventually pick out the mechanics and systems you like and all the others begin to feel like annoying little chores you have to complete before you can get back to the parts of the game you like. The story so far seems the same way. Characters are introduced, interactions are short and superficial, maybe you do a fetch quest for them or two, then some will disappear forever while ot...
Dave The Diver has a certain charm to it that's hard to explain but it is one of my favourite games i played this year, had an enjoyable story and a pretty fun 100%. Also Bancho is the goat.
words can't describe how amazing this game is. seriously just go play it for yourself. i 100% recommend it!
A great game that is really just 15 games stacked on top of each other in a trench coat
Dave the Diver is my post-work escape from reality. After a long day, diving into pixel-perfect waters and running my quirky sushi bar is the perfect way to unwind. The music, the charm, the fish. I didn’t know I needed this kind of chill until I found it. 🐟💙 If you're looking for a game that feels like a warm hug after a hectic day, this is it.
