About This Game

Coach a sports team of Beasties in this turn-based volleyball RPG!

Beasties' teamwork is powered up by the relationships they form together. Whether they become BESTIES, PARTNERS, RIVALS or SWEETHEARTS they'll get a powerful combo move that's unique to every pair and can turn the tide in a tough match!

Explore an open world and meet a varied cast of Ranked coaches, each with their own story. You'll have to defeat them and raise your ranking if you want to compete in the CROWN SERIES.

Bosses are all revealed on your map from the start and can be defeated in any order. With each one you defeat, the others become stronger, so no matter which way you go you'll have a tough and exciting rise to the top.

Play sports in strategic turn-based encounters on a tiny tactics grid. When you have the ball, you have multiple actions to pass and set up a devastating attack. When the other team has the ball, you'll have to anticipate their attack and make a defense play.

Every Beastie has unique traits, strengths and weaknesses and they have many ways to work together, lending a great deal of depth and strategy to every match.

There's more to making it in the Beastieball League than playing sports! Ranked coaches you defeat become available to hang out, allowing you to build your friendship and see extra story.

As the plot unfolds you'll meet friends, rivals, corporate sponsors, and even a mysterious Sports King with grand ambitions...

Fantastic game all around, the best monster collector I've played since Black/White 2. Fully feature rich and mechanically complete, albeit still rough around the edges as of Early Access summer 2025. There are a big chunk of mid to late game creatures with placeholder sketches and unfinished animations, which may be the only reason to potentially hold off until further updates roll out. It doesn't ruin the experience, I personally wasn't all that bothered by static beasties floating around, but it is jarring. The animation quality for what is done however, is very expressive, and will be well worth the wait when complete. Mechanically, when I was hooked into the battle system, I was completely hooked and never let free. Beastieball is obviously very Pokemon inspired, and it draws from the familiar basics of double battling, but a clean diversion from the formula that feels refreshingly addictive in a unique way. Battles are done on an 4x2 grid. Three actions per offensive play, one...

This game is crafted so thoughtfully and with lots of love. The game has a very in-depth 2v2 turn based combat system that lets you craft and experiment with endless team combinations. The inspired beastie designs bring be back the next day to play more. The *drama* of your beasties becoming friends, sparking rivalries, or falling in love while on the court is also quite entertaining.

This game... Captivated me in a way that few others have managed to do. The creature designs, the world, the characters, the music. It all amounts to a game that is beautiful, and rich with emotion and personality. The gameplay is phenomenal. With a two-by-two grid system for either side of the field allowing for various tactics and playstyles. The 'type' system being streamlined in a way that just makes sense and while simple, is infinitely malleable, allowing you to match up your team and either focus on a single strategy, or have a few backup plans and have it all be at least somewhat viable. The system itself is very new player friendly without being super limiting to veterans, allowing you to play your style. And I think that is the key word here, Style. This game is a complete VIBE from start to end. With some of my favorite videogame soundtrack pieces, some of my favorite creature designs, and absolutely a fun world to navigate and explore, This is an EXPERIENCE.

Played the demo; was immediately hooked and bought the game. It's like pokemon, but better. I would not have expected creature catching volleyball to work nearly as well as it does. it's a creature catcher *first* and a volleyball game second, and the volleyball just adds cool depth to the battles. There are so many cool and thoughtful little details, and so many little quality of life things that I didn't expect. The production value is quite high--especially for a game in early access.

easy at times but fun and charming, I adore the animations and [most of] the designs your beasties relationships with each other can change depending on their personalities and your play style and it effects fights, it can be inconvenient at times, but it really helps make your journey feel personal and your team feel like an actual team you have to impress a beastie before you can recruit them to the team and the requirements are different for each species, which makes them stand out from each other even more also you can see the concept art for a beastie on their beastiepedia page in game and I think that's cool excited for it to be finished so I can see all my little guys moving around

Deceptively deep combat system, less grind than in similar games and already a good amount of endgame content. Has a lot of potential for a competitive PvP scene if it manages to attract a larger playerbase.
