About This Game

Now with Online Multiplayer and Online Leaderboards
If you're wondering how your friends are able to beat the map, why not play with them and have a look yourself (using the Spectator Mode!)! Stickit can now be played online, both on the main level and on custom user created levels, together with your friends! Furthermore scores are submitted to online Steam Leaderboards, both for the main level and for user created levels! See who can beat levels the fastest!

Now with Level Editor and Steam Workshop integration
If the difficulty of the main level isn't quite to your liking, try your hand at making your entirely own levels with the provided in-game Level Editor, or download community created levels directly from the Steam Workshop!

Stickit is a brutal first person platforming game about climbing higher and higher to reach your ultimate goal, The Golden Stick. At your disposal is the very simple mechanic of sticking to walls and ceilings, no complex control schemes or wonky physics, so how hard can it be?

Whilst the only way forward is up, the way up isn't always obvious. The level contains multiple routes, and for those technically gifted players you will likely be able to find skips around obstacles entirely. Be careful however, because once you fall and are unable to find your footing on the platforms below you, the only way back up is the very same path you came...

But it's simple really, just jump and stick it.

Features
  • Tight and satisfying controls, Stick to walls and ceilings by dashing
  • Hard to master, whilst sticking to surfaces might seem simple, there's a hidden mechanic to it that will allow you to find new paths.
  • In-game Level Editor and Steam Workshop integration, if the main level isn't your thing then try creating your own levels and share them with others on the Steam Workshop!
  • Steam Leaderboards, times for the main level and user created levels are submitted on stored on Steam Leaderboards, see who's the fastest!
  • Online Multiplayer, play online with your friends and find the way forward together! You can even play together on user created levels!
  • A massive level, many many hours to beat it, if you're even able to.
  • Non-linear level, there's almost always more than one way up, which one will suit you? And for those in a rush, finding new paths entirely to skip obstacles is very much encouraged.
  • Heatmap of player mistakes, every single of your failures is stored for you to see
  • Speedrunner friendly, both speedrunning split timer and a segment practice mode is in the game. Furthermore the nature of the game lends itself perfectly to speedrunning. Find alternate paths and climb even faster.
  • Steam Achievements (Compare how far you've gotten compared to others by checking their achievements)
  • Steam Cloud integration. New computer? Don't worry, all your mistakes are stored in the Steam Cloud

genuinely a fantastic game - absolutely criminal that it is such a small unknown game. it's extremely skill based, it has a speedrun timer built into the game, it has multiplayer so you can race with your friends, there's toggles for parts of the UI that you don't want to see, there's even a toggle to view where you failed in all your previous runs as well as a counter for the time and fails you have total. also worth mentioning there is a level editor so there's a lot of content potential by playing custom maps too. the community for this game, although small, seems extremely friendly as well and the developer pays attention to feedback and bugs (as an example i saw someone post a glitch in discord and there was a hotfix uploaded within 10 minutes). genuinely nothing bad to say about this game, other than it's HARD even as someone with thousands of hours of bhop/surf/kz on csgo

Stickit, when you play for the first time, will present you with a seemingly impossible task. Obtain the Golden Stick. I initially thought this was going to be another rage game like Jump King or Getting Over It, but for some reason I don't find myself getting upset when I fail, and I think that is largely due to the fact that the controls are actually incredibly responsive and intuitive, every fall can only be blamed on your own mistake, and that will drive you to get better, and beat it the next time. Learning each obstacle is a slow ordeal. Most of the time you can get away with using practice lamps, but other times there's no other choice but to turn it off and put all your hard work on the line for the sake of progress. 9 times out of 10 you will fail horribly, but every time you get just a little bit closer to the finish line. It's very rewarding to discover new shortcuts to take, master them, and slowly get closer to the top. Obviously I'm nowhere near the Golden Stick even a...

Super well crafted & underrated game, but it needs checkpoints (optimally few and far between) for the game's own sake. The lamppost's range limitation totally nullifies its usefulness. If necessary, make it so checkpoint users don't show up on the leaderboards. This game's fun for the first half hour, then gets boring and stale as hell after that, as you're just traversing the same landscape over & over again, because you respawn in the same location over & over again, to do the same bits of level over & over again. The overall game experience is less of a 'great, i've made it to a new area' and moreso of a 'great, i've got to do this all over again.' There's a reason why, as of typing this, only three people ever beat this game, & only 20% of people ever even made it to the second zone. Let niche players do niche things & be rewarded for it, rather than punishing everyone outside of that minuscule population. This game has lots of potential, but it all ends up unfortunately being red...
