About the Game

Explore an open sea and the decaying archipelago of Strandville in Wavetale, a story-driven action-adventure game introducing you to fed-up fishermen, secretive hermits – and maybe a pirate or two. Traverse calm waters and surging waves as Sigrid, a young girl who befriends a mysterious shadow that provides her with the power to walk on water.

Speed through the waves, swing yourself from housetops with your net, and defeat an old nemesis to save the citizens of the islands. All with a bit of help from the shadows down below—and your cranky grandmother.

  • Speed through the open sea and swing yourself between buildings in this fast-paced adventure
  • Experience a heart-warming story about loss and reconciliation
  • Make new acquaintances amongst Strandvilles diverse cast of islanders – from the charmingly cocky surfer girl to an old fisherman turned fashion designer
  • Change your appearance with collectible hats, hair dyes and outfits
  • Fill the pages of Sigrid’s scrapbook with special drawings to learn more about her world

Liked the vibe and feel of the trailer a lot and at 3 bucks...why not? Unfortunately the game does not play like the Trailer vibes. It would be a decent game for someone who has never played video games before or maybe a child. Full Moveset is available from the start and its quite fun to move around, but ultimately the game is pretty empty and there isnt much to do. The sidequests are just filler that award you with currency for cosmetic upgrades. They don't show in cutscenes however. The difficulty is very low. It's a recommend, but barely, and only on sale.

Loved playing this game. It's a really short game with an impacting storyline about the environment, dealing with loss and guilt. The movement of the character was really fun, felt smooth yet fast. Loved the minimal combat as well as the exploration/jumping puzzles. Art style is really adorable too. The colour palettes are beautiful. Worth the money! <3

A very relaxing game if you just want to take your mind off things. Controls are very responsive and actions are satisfying to perform. Mini games can be challenging until you give it a few tries. Some parts of this game just hit me right in the feels. *side note, I have never seen facial expressions so mispresented EVER, it was actually hilarious

The best part of this game is the fluid movement mechanics and the visual aesthetics. The gameplay is pretty repetitive even after just an hour of play. I got stuck near the end. I needed to start up someone's generator and one of the platforms was just out of reach. I watch a walkthrough on YouTube and I replicated what they did, but for some reason, I just never made it. I picked this up to be a chill game to play with my kids. It ended up being both boring and frustrating and not in a good way. My kid and I are disappointed not to be able to see the end.

Cute art style, interesting movement system, and reasonable achievements. At $1.49 currently it's a steal.

wonderful game that absolutely captivated me. I was utterly impressed by its exquisite and charming graphics, which are both beautiful and incredibly cute. Furthermore, the story was truly captivating and beautifully crafted, making the entire experience incredibly enjoyable and memorable.

Came with high expectations due to its beautiful visual, turns out it was just okay. Traversal was what i expect to be the highlight, but its too simplistic with just jump, boost and grapple. There are combat too, but i didn't expect it at first, so its just fine, and again, very basic combat. Art style altho great, its not that fancy compared to other games, just my opinion. The story easy to understand, not that complex. Music is probably the best thing about this game. Nothing in this game makes me "wow" enough to appreciate it. Glad i got this on huge sale, i don't think its worth it on full price. 6/10

I came in expecting an average game to pass the time.... i was honestly surprised, everything is well put together.... the story tugged at me waaay more than it should haha. Music and art style are soothing and well put together, combined with the fluid gameplay it makes for a really engaging time. There are some things here and there..... in particular the saving system is really really a bad design choice.... it is not terrible once you know how to deal with that, and the game is pretty short all in all so it's not thaaaat much of a drag There are lost of customization options (honestly waaay too many for what you will actually be able to try out and change in the main play), sad that it defaults on scenes but oh well... Still a good game

Awesome movement, wish the combat got a little more complex. Story kept me engaged for the the short but fun 4 hours.

It's a nice game, a bit cluncky and buggy at times, but i had fun playing it. The mechanics of the gameplay are pretty good imo, they're not too profound but they don't really needed to be. The only trouble i had is i managed to do stuff i wasn't meant to at the time, because of the collisions and parkour mechanics the game offers, it kinda got fixed after some minutes of confusion and a quick reset but, yeah. I think those things don't ruin the overall experience and it deserves a chance, especially on sale.
